Default Changing the rear main seal

So i got the tranny out of the car to change the clutch and i was wondering what all it would take to throw a new rearmain seal in while i was in there?

easy, after you get the flywheel off, take a little pick or carefully with a small flat head screwdriver pop it out, becareful not to scar the crank up if using the screwdriver, then carefully pop the new one in, just remember to view the depth that the old one sat at before removing then position new one at same depth.

change it if you think its necessary. but the thing is, there is a better chance of installation error (being you never done one) and it leaking, than the old seal naturally breaking down and leaking.

unually the only time you see a rear main leak (other than a high mileage car i.e. 120000+) is if the pcv system is not working properly. you will probably be alright not changing it
