Can anyone give me information about this? Found it on LS1Sounds and it sounds really cool.
I have no idea what the numbers mean and whatnot, so I'd just like to know the basics, like is it a big cam or small and whatever.
Thanks.

By todays standards its a small cam. As for sounds "114lsa" is the chop to put it in lame mans terms. Make sure you do some reading on this forum about cams if your even thinking about putting a cam in a car. Make sure you understand whats a Daily driver to you and NOT someone else. My thoughts of a DD are something completly different to another. Hope this answers your question.

2 of the best performing, most street friendly, and reliable cams on the market are the 224 and the 228
do some searches, there are plenty of threads on them.
for some clearification a cam listed as 221/221 114lsa means that the duration that the cam keeps the valves open is 221 degrees, the 114 is the lobe separation angle, usually they list a number for lift as well, typically something like .55x" or .58x" which means how much the cam opens the valve.
the higher the duration, generally the "bigger" a cam is. lift can also play into that.
lower LSA is generally more rough idle and less emissions freindly.
as for gas mileage. with stock gears behind an M6...my 233/233 cam gets 25-26mpg highway (80mph windows down, ttops off). and around town about 17mpg (all short trips <10miles w/ traffic), and 19mpg (longer 20-50mile trips but slow speeds <55mph).

I ran a 221/221 114LSA cam in my car for years. Definitely not the most aggressive sounding cam, but it ran well and made good power AND torque. The lope was juuust enough to be noticable, but also often overlooked. Fuel milage with it was excellent - I routinely saw mid-high 20s highway. With the converter locked at low speed (~35mph), the cam behaved like stock. No surging or bucking even at 900-1000rpm under load!
You might be better off with something a little more aggressive, but if you're set on this grind, I've still got mine, and will let it go fairly cheap.

Does the fact that I'm going FI effect my selection on cams? I'm getting a wet Nitrous Kit and a Procharger I plan to run at 8-12 PSI. Not all at once but within the next year or so.

Usually something with a big split in the intake/exhaust duration and lower lift ( I think ) is best for boosted applications. Keep researching and asking questions.
