Default Getting a cam installed, what should i expect?

I have a 2000 WS6 and I am getting a cam put in next week and I was wondering what kind of numbers I should be expecting. I'm kinda new to the cam stuff so I really have no idea where I'd be at. The only mods I have done are pacesetter headers, y-pipe, magnaflow cat-back, and a lid. They're putting in a 224/224 114 lsa comp cam along with the springs, pushrods, oil pump and all the necessary parts. I don't have an upgraded intake manifold, converter, or anything like that yet cause I still need to save some money for those. I doubt ill get close to 400rwhp with just the cam so I was wondering if anyone knew how much I would be making and what I would need to do to get to 400. Thanks a lot.

You won't feel the power difference, i too did a 224 cam on an Auto and no stall sucks, once you get the stall the car will wake up big time. As for me, I'm waiting to get some money so i can do a 6-speed swap. And the car is gonna struggle to at every red light til you get it tuned, or get used to it.

I think the stock intake's going to be holding you back as well. Look into getting an LS6 intake (or a FAST if you have deep pockets), a ported throttle body, and a cutout. Those will help quite a bit for the money you'll spend. As for how much power you'll make on your current setup, I wouldn't expect more than 370ish. It's a good start, and you only need a few more things to have a nice solid setup.

Thanks for all the input, it helps out a lot. And yea I'm definitely looking to get at least the LS6 intake and a ported throttle body in there real soon. I'll post the numbers as soon as it gets done if anyone is interested in what it makes. Thanks again.
