Default Comp 918's and TSP Torquer V.2

I have been thinking of getting a cam package for a while now and I believe I am going to get the torquer v.2. The comp 918's are rated at .625 lift and the specs on the v.2 are 232/234 .595/.598 112 LSA. Some people have said I should get the patriot dual springs but I don't understand why if the 918's are rated for .625". I am on a pretty tight budget and my build was just going to be the cam, springs, tsp pushrods, ls2 chain, and arp rod bolts just for extra safety. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? BTW I am here to learn so speak up if you can give me some insight please.

I ran my TQv2 with 918s for about 4 months with a lot of valve train noise. I later switched to a set of PRC heads with dual springs. I recommend just saving the extra few bucks and getting the duals.... added security.

this is how I thought the turnout would be. I guess I will just drop a bit more money and sleep better at night. Thanks for the replies.

i run the 918s on my torquer 2 and have no issues whatsoever.....i was told when i bought my springs that the duals are just more of a safety net than anything but arent necessary! either way u go ur gonna be fine

i wouldnt trust any single spring over .600 lift. the old 918s said 625 so do the new ones. the 918s are fine now for piece of mind and future cam swap i would go duals. personally i wish i would of went with the MS3 at the time instead of the Tv2.

Why would you want the MS3 over the Tv2? I'm also trying to decide on a cam and was considering the Tv2.

I have had great luck with 918s. This past winter I went to 921s.

I wonder if ppl install springs that are too strong and would that effect the valve seal?

Why not the torquer V3??? 111LSA??? Little more lift, little less duration on the intake I believe. If you're going to get the springs now anyway, put em to good use ;-)
