Default What times from AFR 205's?

I did some searching on this site and i'm getting alot of different results.
Some of you might know that i'm looking to sell my never used F-body D1SC
kit and GTP S2 LQ9 heads. So after doing the search thing i'm very interested
in the AFR 205's. But before i drop the cash i want to see how people did
at the track with those heads. The cam i like is a Predator-Z spec'd cam its
specs are: 218/224 .604/.609 113lsa+1 it sounds like it would be a awesome
street cam. I'm looking for people that run the AFR's and a cam thats close
to the one i want to use. I plan on keeping my '02 stock intake, but i'm going
with a Shaner ported TB, SuperMaxx headers, and most likely a Magnaflow CB.
I would really appreciate if you guys that run a setup close to my future
setup. You can post dyno numbers if you want, but i'm just more curious
what the car runs at the track. I really like the AFR's to the point that i'm
looking to sell my Procharger kit. Thanks in advance guys.

Nobody has a similar setup with times? I know i want the AFR's i just wanted
an idea what i can expect. I'm not asking what times i will run cause there are too
many factors involved for that. But before i place my order i just wanted some guys
to chime and talk about their experience either on the dyno, but mostly at the track.
I appreciate it.

It all depends how much power you are going to make. Also track times is a matter of suspension and you being A4, a matter of stall as well.

Let us say you'll be 420 rwhp, then you should be able to run as fast as low 11s is properly setup. Even 10s with a bit of weight loss.

But the combo you are looking for will be a great street combo and not a track destroyer, so IMO looking for track numbers is a bit pointless for a street car.

If you go with the combo you have in mind and provided you paid attention to details and installed everything well, you'll have a fun, reliable, everyday street warrior with crisp throttle reponse, 160+ mph yet able to tackle the heaviest traffic kinda ride.

^^ man thats good to hear...i just want to atleast match the performance of my
'02 WS6 A4. That car ran 11.78 and i used a small Comp. 216/220 and JPR cleaned up 241 casting with stock valves. And it was an animal
on the street too And the setup that i'm looking at should out do my old setup i would think. And thanks again for the 218/224 .604/.609 113lsa+1 that cam should make some serious power from low to high rpm's. I appreciate your help.

Come to think of it, I wish I had the $$ right now, I would take that Procharger off your hands.

Oh man really!!! i would love that. Well i'm sure it wont sell too fast so
just PM me if you get the money. I guess you dont want the heads? lol.
I had Craig do a custom port job. I didn't want the runners to me hogged out. So he kept
the runners in check...i think the intake runners are like 218cc's i believe. This way the heads still would make nice torque until the blower kicked in. Basically
i'm a torque junky

If it means anything to you my setup made 433 rwhp, and I just ran 12.03 on all weather street tires and stock suspension with 0 weight reduction...

I know we have different cam's but rwhp is about the same....

Just trying to help...

^^yeah thats cool and thanks for posting your numbers i really appreciate it cause
i want to do it right the first time. Now with your dyno numbers you got the power to
run about 11.5's or better with a better tire and some suspension mods. But a very nice
car to say the least. Oh man i just saw that you have an A4 with a stall. And you still
have killer numbers. Your car must be fun as hell on the street

Can anyone else post their times with the AFR 205's? I'm at the point that its more cost
effective to sell my FI stuck and go with a nice street setup.

What were your 60' times? Cause with that power and stall i would think u
could run 11.6's all day.

i have some 205's milled to 62cc's and im running a 230/234 cam. So far i have only been to the track once since the swap and when i ran i had subs and jack/spare tire in the trunk and i ran on my 18 inch c6 wheels on crappy sumitomo tires. I could only cut 2.1 to 2.2 60' but i ran a best of 12.67@114 mph which isn't bad considering my race weight was 3860. With some sticky tires and without the crap in the trunk i should easily run 11's

My 60' was 1.88 on the 12.03...It was like 85* out and about a 100* on the track

I'm going again tomorrow, I expect to go into the 11's on street tires with some cooler weathers..

From doing days of searching...its seems like ported stock 241 GM heads with small
cams are running better times than with the AFR's with small cams. And when i say small i dont mean 224/228 cams...thats not small....208 duration thats small...224 cams are mid-sized.
But the cam i'm looking at is a Comp LSK 218/224. And its looking like stock ported 241's
are more than holding their own. Actually i've seen stock 243 heads unported do great with small cams...Like the corvette Zo6 for instance 243 heads and 204 cam. please someone post AFR's with a cam 220*'s or less that runs 11.7's please.

you're right she ran a 10.74 in a 346. but she is light and that a race car. I looking just
for a killer street setup...if i can run 11.7's in a heavy WS6 with cleaned up 241 heads
and a 216/220 cam i should be able to do the same with AFR's and a 218/224 cam
