Default Ok I have $6,000 to build up my LS1...

Hey guys, I have a few ideas of my own but Im curious to see how other people would spend the money. I already have done my suspension and now Im ready to go faster. The thing is I dont have the space to pull/drop the motor or anything like that. So I need to keep it bolt on and cam/valvetrain.

Its not my DD anymore so Im not worried about gas mileage..ect

Get frame connectors instead of a cage first.
If its nor your DD, get the MS4,vindicator, polluter or any big cam! Torque arm, lcas, LS6 intake, 85MAF, 160 stat, if going Fast92 you need that new 92mm TB which is minimum 350$ The tune will be a must after all that 500-600$

The $1100 I suggested for the intake includes the TB...Texas-speed has the package. He said he has already done suspension so forget the torque arm and lcas. The stock maf is fine unless making some serious power. HE could also check out the MS3, MS4 or V3.

Pretty much any combo from above. Or you could get a used procharger, a good fuel system, a stall, and a tune for around that price. If you play it safe on boost you can have a fun car without breaking anything until you can save up for forged internals/built tranny/built rear-end. Just depends on what you are looking for, is it gonna be a track car of a fun street car?

Nitrous: $1000 With tune (this could be subject to change for this was my price)
H/C + install: $2100
Gears + Install: $600
LT and True Duals: $ 1000
I dont know what tires you have on the car but DR or slicks are a must, NT 615, etc... $600 for 2
Custom Stall Converter: $400
Lid & Ported TB: $150

Thats close to you budget, Have fun!

I enjoy my setup....if we're talking strictly engine/bolt-on mods...

Full exhaust (Pacesetters, ORY, Magnaflow) almost $1,000

Clear Lid: $100

FAST 92/Jantzer 92mm throttle body: $1200

H/C package from TSP: $2500

and in the future....

Nitrous Outlet total package 92mm plate kit with all accessories, etc. $1200

Adds up to exactly $6000! How bout that.

However, if you don't have a 12-bolt or a stall, etc. then I reccomend you do those, and leave out some engine mods.

Heres my list:
Intake Lid
Headers
Exhaust
12 Bolt Rear End
Torque Converter
Subframe Connectors
Lower Contrl Arms w/ relocation brackets
Torque Arm
Tires

Those are my options, and what i would work with if starting out fresh with an A4. Not in that exact order, but something similar. Work your way to getting the car quicker before jumping into the motor. With those mods above you should be able to pull some pretty nice times at the track. Then when you got the urge to play with the motor then jump into something like a heads and cam set-up with maybe some juice. Or maybe spray it before you jump into the heads and cam. Good luck with your car.

9" or 12 bolt, full exhaust (LTs, cutouts, cat back, etc.), stall, polluter w/ supporting mods. should be enough to quench your thirst for a while.

EDIT: also, get a good tune for it, almost forgot that.

I'm running a special on AFR's right now and offer custom ground cams for 370 as well as the 92/92 combo with the Jantzer Performance billet tb. We are very competative with our package prices.

everything that homerunhtr21 and what Johnnystock said plus if you have an automatic be prepare to have problems with it along with rearend. Try to upgrade them aswell it will only keep you out of trouble down the road. I can say some people get lucky and some don't. My trans was replaced at 22,000 miles and now i'm at 65,000 and the car has quite a few track passes. I'm going to be doing something with mine soon.

Quick Reply: Ok I have $6,000 to build up my LS1...
