I chased the quarter mile clock with my Turbo Regal, lots of fun, but it was a never-ending pursuit of rub money here, rub money there, go a little faster. It's now more rewarding to scare the wife and entertain the kids in between stoplights. :-)

So... what version should I get, current version or wait for the longer runners?

Charlie

Long version. This version will move the powerband up into the higher rpms.

Also, I can tell you that the combo that I have been working on with the solid roller and 245 TFS heads makes very little vacuum. If throttle response is what you are after, make sure you get a smallish cam or you will have tuning nightmares.
all i know cam-wise is it's supposed to be a 252/256 range, i dunno the lift or LSA or ICL or anything else right now, waiting on it all to be confirmed.

Wow. That thing is gonna be a bear to tune (driveability) with a short runner, TFS245's and a stick. Do LOTS of research and find someone that is a very good tuner in your area or you will not be happy with that setup. Not so sure that even the longer runner will help much. You may want to start thinking automatic.

you, sir, are a blasphemer

Ed Wright in Tulsa tuned the car last time, with the setup in my sig. he did awsome. i know a solid roller 346 he tuned that made over 500rwhp and drove good....but with this car as it is now and the motor that's coming, i'm not sure who to use exactly. i haven't lost faith in Ed, but i'm considering taking the car somewhere a little more renowned in our circles that maybe has built similar motors, like Vengeance or LME....only problem is i live in southwest missouri and don't want to drive too far. there's a club in springfield, 417 motorsports, and they have a tuner that's pretty highly reputed, but only in local groups and i haven't personally seen anything he's tuned...so i dunno what to do.

Interested in more dyno numbers. This might change my motor plans for my Chevy II.

Ok so I got prices for a sheet metal intake. I like the design and price of this intake. My question is would it work for boosted apps. The motor is going to be a 408 with a single 88. The car is going to be set-up for drag radial. Gonna try and run the 275 class and the 8.50 index this year with it.

Sounds like my setup except for the gearing.

Why auto ? Mike at Vengeance tuned mine and its fine. I'm sure he could tune it for this intake and a six speed.

Then he falls under the "very good tuner" category as I said in my post.

I'm very interested but so far the testing shows no reason to get one. Would I see any gains going from a LS2 to this on my 402?

What testing have you seen that didn't show good gains?

One result posted was from a GTO that showed big gains on a chassis dyno, another is someone tested it at the track one time and ran slower. There is no concrete data either way right now.

Ive seen cars pickup nothing with a fast 90 setup just bolting it on and running at the track without a dyno tune, then after getting on the dyno they saw solid gains.

The one guy that's got a good race setup that put one of these on, lost .4 and 4 mph from a ported fast.

That's not the kind of results that are gonna mek me want to put on e on the car that's for sure, and his cost at the end of the day was 2 grand for the thing.

That being said I'm back to Cary from Perf. inductions 2 piece single plane. That's a proven tested piece that had gains over a fast like this one was supposed to, and at 2100 bucks with the CNC porting and the rails and install kit to me it's a wash, 100 bucks at this point for a proven performing part is well worth it in my eyes.
