Especially after the guy in the Drag racing section w/ the TFS heads went 115 mph NA on pump gas and a ported fast in the 1/8 th. It really makes me rethink my setup since i just sold mine to get the GMPP intake and 4 bl TB.
You should see a nice gain with the gmpp and 4bbl tb, that's what I swapped too on my car, went a mph or two faster on motor and it's going way faster on spray! But keep us informed on what happens.

I will. I hope it picks the car up. I made 500 rwhp through a th350,steel drive shaft, 12 bolt on slicks. I will be changing the entire top end but we will see.

But it says he's only shifting 6800, so it's not like he's really spinning very high to where it needs more than the fast really.

true, but that is a bad *** setup and it is flying with the fast on it.

Anyone know what the raceweight of that car is?

Certainly works well (good suspension set-up) and it is flying!

Oh I agree for sure, was just making a point that it's not a high reving setup, so it's fine with a fast on it.

Doesnt look like a bad intake but I think it will need the right cam shaft, converter and will need to turn some RPM. I swapped converters about 4 times last year to get mine right. Sucks but you do what you have to to make it work.

Good luck with it.
I think Wayne makes a very good point here. The short runner Fiber Tuned intake is a good bit different than the FAST in design, so a cam that works good with the FAST doesn't mean it would be the perfect cam for the short runner Fiber Tuned intake.

Yeah, but I saw in another thread where Wayne said that he swapped to a super vic single plane and went faster than the sheetmetal with no other changes (or I think with no other changes)?

Looking at the Fiber tuned intake, looks like the floor is below the runners. Thats the main difference I see from all the other sheetmetal intakes. Do you think that if the floor was raised or countured to the lower part if the runner that it might help with Volumetric efficientcy(VE) of the intake? The short Runner is great for topend. It still can work on the street for the extreem hardcore who dont care about no slow speed torque.

His raceweight was 3150 for those runs Tony.

Figured the car was pretty light.....none the less even at that weight (with an assumption the D/A was pretty low that day), that shows the engine to be producing high 600's at the flywheel. Definetly solid numbers!

-Tony

PS....I disagree about the fibre tune and the camshaft....spending days on the dyno with each might have shown slightly different results but think about an LS1 intake compared to a ported FAST.....25+ difference in RWHP without touching the camshaft. The cam isnt the missing link here IMO

I was looking forward to seeing better results, but with the runner length I thought it was going to potentially be an issue. I think the best thing you could do right away is simply switch to a 26 inch tire, wind it out more, and see what it does. If that picks it up and you want to run a 28 inch tire you just switch gears.

Looks like there will be some good air here Wednesday night for the track. I put the FAST back on and have been getting the tune dialed back in with it. I will make some passes to make sure that my performance is back where it was before I switched. I just want to make sure that there isn't something else wrong with the car. I suspect that the car is fine and I will likely see a new personal best if the weather really is in the 50's as the forecasts are saying now.

Hopefully we will see some dyno figures start rolling in here in the next few days. If someone does create a new thread for dyno results, please link it back to here.

As stated before, I will not be changing cams or gears in order to accomodate this intake. It would be foolish to go off and spend a bunch of money just to get back where I was with poorer drivability. This car is my daily driver and gearing up without having overdrive is not an acceptable option to me right now.

Any results? Did TTI dyno your car yesterday?
