Default Resleeved vs ls7

I ask the same questions to Steve @ RED. He said that he has many resleeved LS2's pushing 900hp without any issues.

Naturally the LS7 has the different grade aluminum and the stronger main caps. However he said that he has had to resleeve many ls7 blocks cause the stock sleeve took a dump.
Though might have been a bad tune ?

As you see in my sig. I have a resleeved ls2. I have not beaten it to the max but the tune is getting very close for a dyno pass n we'll go from there.

BTW, the Darton sleeves are also longer for a longer stroke !

After reading the comments, and HP that you have made with the Ls2 block, you have set my mind at ease.
I had ordered a Katech shortblock with 4.125 bore and 4.0 stroke, I just wanted peace
of mind.
I'll have it Monday, Lunati crank, Callies Compstar rods, Kateck 11.0 cr pistons.
I have an A6 so it will be a small cam and TFS 225 with 61cc Chambers.
Thanks for your input.

I'm doing the same kind of build for a blower application. I was told by many builders that the stock aluminum block sleeves are prone to cylinder deformation, especially under heavy boost and nitrous loads. So my question would be; What is the street reliability of the Darton sleeved block? I definately don't want the extra 100 or so pounds of an iron block over my front end.

Default LS2 Sleeves

Contact Steve @ raceenginedevelopment.com

He'll answer all ur questions bout the Darton sleeves as he has worked with them to develop the sleeves.. He wanted to take me to Darton to show me around but I didn't have the time when I stopped in...

BTW, that's why I went with the resleeve to omit the extra 100lbs from the LSX block. Curb weight is about 3400 and it's almost a fully loaded 00 TA with a tube K member n tube A arms. ABS delete n a few other things..
