Physically it can be done. I called GMPP back and just spent 1/2 and hour discussing this. Must use LS9 intake gaskets and head gaskets. Regular LS3 gasket will not hold the boost. You can use the LS3 heads, but from what I was told they will hurt your power gains. I would definitely use the LS9 heads if you are going to do this swap. From what I was told, this looks to be quite a difficult swap. If you guys have any more question, let me know. This was the first time GMPP was asked this question.
Hmmm, I was wondering how a lower compression LQ4 would hold up with a little boost. It seems with the budget price of a used LQ4 and an intercooled supercharger you could easily make 500hp with amazing midrange torque.
But from your comments, it sounds like the intake wont work with cathedral port heads?
BTW, how would the LST/LSA supercharger/intercooler price compare with some of the commercial units, ie Magna?

So what is different about the LS9 head? I thought it was the same as the LS3. Or is it the same as the LS7? Is the deck thicker? Can't imagine anything else helping the heads not lift.

It is like the LS3 head but there is a swirl wing near the intake valve guide.

Exactly. I would imagine that this charger would bolt right onto a low compression LS3 motor that is built for boost. Those LS9 pistons are really some beautiful pieces if you manage to ever see them in person. GM is simply saying it won't bolt on because they don't want you boosting a stock LS3 motor and blowing it to hell and then trying to turn it in for warranty. This supercharger will bolt onto any L92/LS3 heads, but like was said before, one of the differences is that swirl wing right at the valve guide in the intake port on the LS9 heads.
So what would be the easiest way to put an LS9 or LSA blower on a set of LS1 heads?
You CAN'T...The ls9 blower is designed to run on rectangular intake ports. You can ONLY use this blower/lower intake with the ls9 heads or ls3/l92 heads. To make the blower work on anything else, you would need a custom fabbed lower intake, Which unless you can do it yourself, You are better off buying a specific blower for your set up.

I think kenne bell makes a blower for ls3/l92 heads that would prob be eaiser to install and make more power
+1 Twin screw is the way to go. I doubt you can find a ls9 blower cheap unless you steal a zr1. If they are the same price you might as well get a Kenne Bell.
