Does a TB spacer gain power??
I was just wondering if my TB spacer was helping with power or losing power
some of my friends say its good and some say different
I know on a carbed car there better but how bout on a Fuel injected car?

On a stock style intake they don't really do anything. They are great on a carb style intake as it adds plenium length. To get the same results on an ls styled intake you would need intake spacers that go under the intake. But a tb spacer is useless unless it has a nitrous system plumbed into it.

tb spacers are designed to better anomize *can't spell* the fuel into the air... since its multi-port injection it doesn't do a damn thing... slap your friends the next time they say you should get one

Here look at this. Scroll 3/4 down and look at the major difference between the LS4 intake as opposed to the LS2. The LS4 is much more blocked off so I can see the throttle body spacer adding velocity before it enters the intake chambers. Here is the link:

Can anyone tell me how thick the Ls1 spacer is? I was trying to judge per the pick and it looks maybe 3/4 if an inch? Also does a differnt throttle cable bracket need to be used to make a spacer work on an ls1 car? Or is it a bolt on and go....

I think it causes me to burn more gas in the city, but it did help my times at ATCO Raceway. I can feel the difference in how my GXP responds on the highway, also.

I would have had more, but the '78 Chevy Camaro RS (race car) was sold two years ago. It was caught in 'Floyd Flood' and the car chassis was rotting out and I wasn't going to redo the rear half of the car over again. I also wrecked the other '68 Firebird that I had. A couple more also went to family members. Should I continue? I've been in this game a long time. I actually bought my first two cars before I was able to drive. The '68 Pontiac that I listed in the sig is one of them. I rebuilt my first engine when I was 13 years old. It wasn't pretty, but it did run.
Now, back to the TBS Subject matter. Any restriction that the intake has is in the intake manifold. I've been a machinist, now for more than 20 years and the last time I looked at our LS4 engines, the restriction is in the intake mainifold. The TBS only helps our cause to some degree. The TBS would work a lot better if there were no restrictions in the intake manifold.

Beamie,
Since you are a machinist maybe you should start poting these LS4 manifolds for us. Could make you a little more cash on the side... Just a thought. BTW-You have a very nice list of vehicles.
