Default TRICKFLOWS or AFR

Ok everyone I am looking to build a awesome street car, something I can drive and something I can even take on long trips. With that said I have a LS2 402 that I used on my FI setup that is like new, I am going to use this motor and change the Pistons.

I am looking to get 11.5:1 compression ratio and use set of Great heads to obtain a goal of roughly 540/540 power wise give or take. My dilemma is what Heads and cam combo. Looking at AFR 205's or 215's and a good cam to obtain this goal while obtaining great street manners.

any info you guys have to share is much appreciated

Thanks
Brian

if i where buying set of new heads today on my 402 build i would go whith TFS 235cc.

but you can get around 530-540/490-510 TQ i think, if you decide to use 215cc for example TFS 215cc and right combo , whith cp around 11.5:1
maby more (search for: alling_c5 ) on the forum

but i would select the heads first and then decide the cam.
You can get big Cam whith good manners.

i´m running wiesco - 8cc dish pistons and just finished milling my heads TFS 215cc 3.9" bore down to 57.5cc and then opened the chambers up for bigger bore 4" and the cc is now 59cc, that should leave me whith 11.6:1 in CP whith .6" gaskets , i was in 10.95:1
but i havent runned it again after these changes...
Cam is Txgiant cam 248.254 - 615.622 -114 it´s a bit rough but very fun street car. a good TQ on low rpms and a lot on mid range

good luck Brian

TFS Are Good Heads But I Think They Are A Little Pricey. The 215's Only Flow Around 320-330 And Cost $2200+ I Would Just Get A Set Of L92's That Flow The Same 320-330. You Can Find Them On Here For $650+ All Day. Get Them Ported And You'll Have A Better Set Of Heads Than The 215's And Will Have Only Spent Half The Money

WCCH makes a set of L92's, reasonably priced I think and a ported L76 intake (like mine) should be more than enough to feed a 402. Cartek did my L92 headed motor they can put a good h/c combo together for you.
I think for a good street motor that will make great low wend torque the L92's are a good choice and a stock L76 intake is reasonably priced and works well with just a 90mm tb.

I say TFS 225s, 215s are not enough for a 402 in my opinion. Good luck with the build.

i dont think he wants to mill them since he is procharged

if you dont want to save money and get L92's tfs are WAY better than afr's

and on a 402 i would think 225 at least id not 235-245's

I would still say 225s are good for a 402 in a street car. I wouldn't go with 235s until 414ci for a street car running about 11:1 cr.

You could use 215s if you really want to.
