From my reasearch I found that they work with ls2/3/7 coils and it does have an oil fill its just on the back driverside on the stock ls9 motor. All you have to do is swap sides and you will have the oil fill in the stock spot

They do bolt right to the covers. They do require the LS9 specific harness to plug into them.
They also require the LS9 specific cap for the oil fill hole (from what I have seen). They do not take the extension neck. The LS9/A are supposed to have a valve inside the cap that releases pressure. Idk on that part.
They are such a good price and easy to use that I have used them on about 4 engine builds so far. The only strange part is they only come with 3 coils. You have to get the 4th plus the 2 bolts for them for each cover.
They do use the same mitsu coil that the LS2/3/7 has. So the bolt pattern is the same.

I cannot say as the coils are "better" than the truck coils. I know they work well for alot of high HP LS9 builds out there using them. That is in itself a testament to something.
On the hand of pricing. The LSA/9 uses a coil harness that exits from the back of the valve cover for space reasons obviously. You can use any harness that will plug into the LS2/7 coil to save some money from buying a new harness, but that rear exit also keeps down on clutter from the intake area. You would have to make arrangements on a stock harness though to make them plug in the rear.
The valve covers themselves are 132.84 a piece. Like mentioned earlier, they require 1 extra coil and 4 bolts. The coils are 68.75 per and the bolts are 3.05 per. Then factor in the valve cover cap @ 6.91.
If you want the rear exit harness they are side specific obviously, and are $75 per side.
I hope that helps.
