Default LQ4 L92 questions

Please excuse my noob questions and if this is in the wrong spot sorry.

Im building a rock crawler and have decided that the 6.0 has alot to offer for power and price. What im wondering is if there are alot of hidden little things I need to do with this build. Here is what I have found out so far...

2002 LQ4
Stock new L92 heads
LS6 intake manifold with rails and injectors
Throttle body? 85mm? 102mm? what do I need?
MLS head gaskets

One of the big questions I have is what is involved in taking off the truck intake and putting on the car intake? I hear the pullies and water pump are guna all have to be changed?

L92 heads won't accept the LS6 intake. You're going to have to change one or the other, heads or intake. If you go with a FAST intake, go with the big 102mm TB.

Acc drives are different from truck to car, but since you are not space limited, you can use the FAST LSXRT (truck version on the FAST).

Since the LQ4 has a lower CR, bumping it up with the HG & some good milling of the heads isn't a bad idea...or you can change out for some flat top pistons.

Thanks for the replys guys.

Will the L76 intake work? thats LS3 right?

Did some more reading and it sounds like I can run the car stuff if I use the 08 truck water pump, idler relocation bracket, and trim the alt bracket. Is this true?

What size TB is good for a guy wanting 450-500 chp all motor on L92 heads?

you can run the truck intake and not lose much, if any, performance over the car intake. The stock 90 mm ls3 tb is plenty for 450 chp.

The truck intake is to tall for what I need so will the LS3 intake work?

I found a intake, rails, and injectors of a 2010 camaro SS for 300$ that should be fine right? those injectors will flow enough?

Thanks for the help

yea, the ls3/l76 will work. its just easier to run the truck intake if you can instead of hassling with the accessories.

Those injectors should be 42lb and will be fine.

another option is to just run car accessories/water pump.

Dose anybody know what kind of gains I will see from a stock LS3 cam?

I talked to comp cams but alot of the cams they talked about seemed like I would need better valve springs. The cam is so important to get right I hate to get something I dont like. Most all of the cam talk is for street cars not off road (low RPM)

I'm running an LQ4 in mine right now and just had a cam and headers installed. you can contact StraightLine Performance and get the cam #s from them since I don't have them yet (picking up the truck tomorrow or friday). they went with a custom grind reverse split to make more power and also create more bottom end. mine should be in the 450chp range.

I have the car intake on there due to space issues.
