Default Steam tube/cross over setup question...

I will be installing L92 heads and LS3 intake on a LQ4 short block I just picked up.
What steam tubes do I use (fit under LS3 intake)? Valley cover is currently plugged (no knock sensors) due to engine was set up as a carb set up in a fox-body and he only had front tubes on the heads that we removed. I have another valley cover w/knock sensors and crossover tubes that I will be removing from my 98 LS1.
What is my best/easiest setup? Thanks,
It will be going in this...https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...ld-thread.html

^ im running a ls1 4 corner crossover tube and ls1 valley cover with knock sensors on my l92 setup. I think if you wanted to you can block the rear 2 ports and just run the front cross over if you want though.

I looked into it because I have a lot of steel braided hose in the bay and thought it would look cleaner if I ran some ports that would adapt to an fittings. ultimately though it was a lot of work for pretty minimal pay off since Id have to pull the intake manifold .

Thanks, I really want to keep the 4 corner setup. Are you using an LS3 intake? It looks like it may fit (hopefully without grinding bottom). I don't have the heads mounted yet as they are off to BTR to mill and install springs...

You don't need the rear steam ports... It's overkill. The engine is mounted in the chassis on an angle so the front steam vents are the highest point and that's why GM plugs them from the factory.

Is this keyboard wisdom or a proved fact?

I did the 4 but didn't go under the manifold. Seems pretty tight doing it that way. I connected the 2 rears, then ran along beside the fuel rail, and joined to the fronts.

didnt the ls6 come from the factory with the rear ports blocked off due to fitment requirements for the ls6 intake? Same with the LS2 engine also I believe. though the main factory for that maybe how the engine is mounted for those platforms.

I believe you are correct. I will try to use all 4, if clearance is an issue with the LS3 intake I will just use fronts.

Man I'm not trying to be a dick but the website you posted, talks about
steam pockets. Go there scroll down to the first picture of the radiator
cap that is blue, read the 2 paragraphs below the pic. It's not to far from the top.
No, I did not read the entire site but steam is steam, it rises
to the very top, and where is that? I'm thinking right under the steam ports.
If you don't want to use them then please don't. It's a stupid idea to want to get the steam out of an engine anyway.

I have Nitrous Outlet kit. It is for FAST 102mm but they do have one for LS3.
This connect the 4 together.

Default Factory Lines

Go factory lines with a little tubing and compression fittings. I got maybe $50 in this setup. Looks good and works good.

Take a look at the photos on the link below. Should be the last post on this page.

FWIW I've plumbed 5 LS3 engines, never used the rear ports, and have never had any issues with cooling. It can't hurt to use the rear ports, but if you choose not to then nothing untowards will happen.
