Default Painting the LS block
What kind of paint do you all used to paint the block? Do you spray primer? Metal etching primer? Post some pics of your painted LS if you have some.

Iron, I use marine primer and engine enamel. Aluminum, wheel clear coat.

Iron will be easier to paint, regarding the quality of the paint bonding to the metal. Aluminum can be tricky to paint and have the paint bond long term to the metal. There are some aluminum primers out there. I know Rustoleum has several colors. There are also primers known as 'bonding elastomers' that must be mixed, then sprayed on with compressed air/paint gun. Hope this helps......

Duplicolor self-etching primer and their engine enamel. My aluminum block has been painted since 2012 and still looks great.

There ya go!! Self etching primer in Duplicolor or Rustoleum. The ol' noggin couldn't remember the terminology!!
