The ls7 type, vs the actual ls7 intake should be intresting as well.
Worth the money? no wayy Thats would be a $100/hp mod. Guys have a hard time justifying a FAST 90 for 30 hp, and thats $40/hp

Like I said.. I would have a real hard time justifying the $ that costs be worth while... even if it is 30 hp over the fast and I sell my fast for say 800, I'd still have a real hard time swallowing that.

There comes a time when you have to stop looking at the $/hp. If your at a point were you need the additional intake charge, you have to get past the cost. It's just one of those things that you should start saving for, because it is not hard to overcome a composite LS intake.

Until a more affordable alternative comes out, that is a very true statement.

A rectangular port LS7 manifold will not fit a cathedral port LS1/LS6 style cylinder head. Different port size and shape.

LS1 version of this intake is worth about 70-75 OVER an LSX intake on a built 402 NA motor. Where stock style intakes loose momentum at 6500 or so RPM this thing is just getting warmed up. Couple of dynoed motors spinning to 7500 the power just kept climbing never running out of steam. The LS7 should be easily that good Will post results on the LS7 soon.

Dang...that's badass

I know what I just added to my list for my future NA monster...

Do you have a dyno graph comparing the two by chance? Is it 75 hp throughout the curve or it more of a peak gain?

It is a good gain across the board but more of the bulk is high end of the RPM range.

Not me personally but Forester has done alot of testing as he wants the absolute best for his motors. These are all big dollar high revving monster motors. Like I said this LS7 will be tested on a pump gas 443ci ERL block motor shooting for over 700hp.

o.k., now if the cathedral version makes 70 hp over a fast 90.. he $ is alot easier to slwallow, but I want to know.. if that was on a 402 ci motor, what heads/cam/compression/exhaust was beign run when this test was done?

If I could sell my fast for 800 and buy one of these for 3000 with the rails say, and gain 70 hp that makes it a little better.. but I somehow doubt I'm running a hot enough setup, with a set of et 240 heads, 13 to 1 compression, mid 240's cam and a 1 3/4 header into a catted street legal exhaust to see that type of gain.

FWIW, my car made 443 rw thru a th400, 12 bolt, and a converter that flashes to 6000, so it's not a dyno queen driveline by any means, thru an M6 it would probably be about 500 rw maybe a touch more (figuring about 70 hp differnence from a th400 and loose converter to an M6) so that's about 590 to 610 at the crank.

I would like to see the results though, whatthey got the 70 hp on, and some details on that test.

I`m curious for one on my 408 in sig. I also have ET 245`s with a new cam around 250 255 647 646 112( I believe) with motor in sig. I have ported LSX90 set-up also. I might be interested in a wilson, but I don`t spin over 6500rpms. Would it benefit me? I`m only spraying a 200 shot.

And like he ask, Beast how is yours coming along? Thanks!

Just an FYI, the intake does not come with the fuel rails, they cost extra. We ordered one today for the red Camaro we are doing.

Since we already ran the engine on the engine dyno and put it into the car, we plan on running the GM LS7 intake for breaking in the clutch. We will then chassis dyno the car with the GM LS7 intake, and then bolt on the Wilson LS7 piece and chassis dyno the car for fine tuning.

We would have rather done the testing on the engine dyno, but we have already passed that phase of the build.

PS - Nate...I promise I am not hi-jacking your thread

Dosen't really have anything to do with the thread, but no, it dosen't. Major problem right now is getting my K-member that I've been waiting on for over 8 weeks now. Money and time have also been a major concern over the past few months. OT cuts down in the winter months and checks get thin. I could go on, but if you need more info, use PM. This is a bit .

For one you should really spin it higher those heads will love it. And yes I think your setup especially with the nitrous would benifit from it.

Off topic............honestly big freaking deal. Not like every thread doesnt get derailed by 25% BS threads. I find it alittle to have a bit of humor that you preach about things you have bought and not had one result from. That is why I ask, and there to me is relevance when you are remarking about applicable intake choices.
