Not that it's your fault, but I already had one thread derail horribally due to someone gryping because my car dosen't run. There are many members here who don't even have cars, so should they not be allowed to post? I would however like for you to go back and read my posts and tell me how I preached about my intake? Actually I didn't "preach" anything. All I said was, is that there comes a time when you actually gunna have to lay down some money for a intake because it is not hard to over come a composite LSX intake. My freakin dog knows that. If your refering to the driveability statement that I made to ls1408, that's comon knowledge as well. Alot of the people I talked to when buying my intake didn't have one personally, but they all knew alot about them. I'm sure you've browsed a ITB thread on this board before. Driveability advantages with these intakes is one of the most common attributes to them. Not really sure why some of you guys are getting so pissy here latley. If I've done something to offend you, please bring it to my attention.

Beard, just put a carb style intake on it, little more bang for the buck if you think the intake is a major restriction

Since we already ran the engine on the engine dyno and put it into the car, we plan on running the GM LS7 intake for breaking in the clutch. We will then chassis dyno the car with the GM LS7 intake, and then bolt on the Wilson LS7 piece and chassis dyno the car for fine tuning.

We would have rather done the testing on the engine dyno, but we have already passed that phase of the build.

PS - Nate...I promise I am not hi-jacking your thread

Can you do the test with totally stock LS7 ?

Unfortunately, we don't get paid just to do tests on stuff. We have to keep focused on customer cars and projects. Testing is usually done as permissable or when things just seem to have the right timing as in this case. We don't have any stock LS7's here to test. Katech perhaps?

That setup would pick up HUGE amounts because I d doubt a well ported Victor Jr isnt pulling a vacuum on a 408 motor, and if it is use a spacer

Were running a box stock Vic Jr to 8300 rpm and the car never lays over

Nothing would be worth changing your setup now, if you got 30 hp (not gonna happen liekly) it still would be negated by a 25 hpjet change which your motor wouldnt care about anyway.

Weve got a heavy car going easy 8s with a carb style, and dont think any other setup would be worth the hassle or money. We did the carb type stuff mainly just to kill all the low and midrange torqu possible, we have a bad habit of flipping cars over

We could test on a stock LS7, but who is going to pay for it?

Wilson? You'd think they would want some actual numbers don't you?

You'd think for the price of that Wilson Intake, they'd have done a comparison by now. I'm rebuilding a 447ci LSx based motor and could really use better flow than an LSx style intake. But I'm not about to spend $3K in the hope that I'll gain some power.
Actually, the lack of a comparison from Wilson leads me to be suspect of any real worthwhile gains.

I have both intakes. Wilson LS7 billet and factory LS7. I'll have dyno results in a month or so. I've also used 3 of the Willson billet intakes, LS1 style on 402-427 engines and they are light years ahead of the plastic intakes... Worth every penny!

If you know anything about wilson, they never produce anything that isnt top notch. They are having CNC issues, but Im looking at having one here with in 2 weeks. The day the UPS guy brings it, its going on 4 cars. Im paying for my R&D so YOU guys benefit. Like the LS7 comparo for the LS2s, we gained nothing but valuable info.
