New Weiand Street Warrior at SEMA

Well, I'm one of the small percentage looking to spin to 7000 rpms. My motor is in the machine shop now, but won't be put together until I get home from Iraq sometime in May. That leaves me with enough time to wait, but I really need something that will let my LS7 heads breathe. I'm not looking to drop the big $$$$ on a sheet metal intake. I'm hoping someone comes out with a better LS7 intake before long. I sure could use one for my stroker 441.

x 4, on wanting to make power to 7,000 rpms. I would like to spin the motor that high, but if the combination makes power lower. I will have to adjust my shift points a little lower than my current 7,000 rpm shift light.

With enough airflow from a big cam and high flowing head, any engine will produce power in that range. This intake may choke some engines at their peak, where the fast might feed them better up to 7k. Anything over that needs a sheet metal intake, though.

when its released to the public..
I'd like to see this manifold with a set of Tony Mamos AFR 205 head and 224/228 with bolts on. Bet it would make for a great driver!
I'm sure the manifold will work up to high rpm guys. But if you guys are racers go with Victor Jr single plane.

Me and my bud Speedo started this thread since we were pretty excited when we laid our eyes on this intake at SEMA, but I'm thinking the same as Toneloc60......need a intake to breath at least up to 7000 RPM and not cost an arm and a leg and still not be able to drive it on the street! I know we're asking for alot but I think someone will eventually step up to the plate?Traver

There is a fair bit of interest in this down here in Australia too, myself included. But as has been said by a few, needs to flow well to ~7000 for me. Will be great to see some real world & independent testing versus the FAST versus the stock ls6 manifold.

+1, Excellent point. I always see people complaining about costs, but usually they aren't the ones with 500rwhp 34x egines. I too am going to wait to see results and look forward to hearing what this thing can do.

i think that video was on here a long time ago.
this thing does sound awesome, been subscribed to this thread for a couple weeks now, but like others have said, they can promise the world, but will they carry through? im heavily thinking about getting one of these, but not till a couple people have done some side by side tests... was looking at buying an LS6 intake because they are so cheap for what you get, but ill wait till i see the results.

have you read the whole thread? its been awhile since ive read the whole thing, but i kinda think that question was asked. i think someone said they were in the process of coming up with something, but you'll have to look for yourself because i dont really remember.

Well, the LS7 intake is pretty stout on it's own and it sounds like the Weiand peice isn't going to be aimed at engines that large. Who knows though.
If it shows gains on a 346 up to 6200 rpm, I doubt it's going to keep up with a 427 with heads that flow upwards of 360cfm. But again, this is merely speculation until us common folks get our hands on them.
