If you build a 427 out of a 4.065 bore block, then yes that is good advice. but if you build it with a 4.125 bore, then you shouldn't have any problems doing some spray or boost assuming it is built with whatever you want in mind.

Not an LS7 but good info for you more budget oriented guys.
My setup:

LS2 block
Darton 4.125 sleeves, Lunati 4.0 Crank, Oliver 6.125 rods, Wiesco Pistons
LS6 TSP stage X heads w/ Alum rockers, Unported Fast 90 & unported LS2 TB, 85mm Maf, Comp 248/254 601-610 112 cam
511rwhp/480 rwtq
Crank and rods are a little pricey but they dont have to be.
Planning on shooting for 600rw n/A ~ December with an LS7 Head/Intake/TB/maf/UD pulley upgrade. Gathering parts now as deals arise.

11.3 @ 128 on Nitto's w/ a 1.87 60 foot. Easy drive away from the tree launch didnt floor it until 2nd about 100 feet out. Has a 10.7 ish in it on good tires without totally abusing the car.

Default How much rwhp are you ls7 NA guys making these days

My pump gas LS7 was making 545 rwhp and 497 rwtq and ran many 9.9 passes with a best of 9.93@136.90 in my A4 C5. I have since changed to a different cam design but have not gotten a fulll pull on the dyno as the tires continued to break loose as I squeezed the throttle open. The new camshaft made 35-40 more rwhp down low and 25-30 more rwtq but I had to let off at 5800 due to tire spin.

I see hp #'s but where is all the torque. That is what moves the car. The TQ is what gets a better et.

My LS7 Block based 427 made 485 rwhp/485 rwt on the first dyno tune. It is 98% street. AC and all the extras. The comp cams cam that I had was a pain to get the idle right on, so I have since changed the cam to a Lunati VooDoo (less overlap), but have not had it re-tuned. It feels a lot stronger and is scary on the street. It sure is a lot more fun to drive now. The tune is not far off, but I am going to get it dialed in and dynoed again soon. Have not taken it to a track yet. Maybe later.

How about Ragin Racin. They don't play. Realistic numbers and times.

551hp and a 10.62
