L92 = LS3 = LS9 (blocks)? all 3 the same?
Is anyone else having problems receiving these blocks in bare form? If this is the case and SDPC is not blowing smoke at me (I have no reason to believe this is the case, they have been very good to work with), does anyone know of a date when GM will ship these things? I've been without my SS since July 2007 when the LS1 blew, and throw in a 15 month tour in Iraq, and I just want to drive it again. But until this block is shipped to SDPC, I will be without.

I called SDPC today and was told that the L92 and the LS3 now share the same part number as the LS9 block (I understand that the diamentions are all 'equal').
In summary, when will GM ship blocks out to vendors?
Thanks
Can someone verify this information is true?

I read somewhere (Hot Rod magazine, maybe?) that in the development stages of the LS9 they ended up strengthening the bottom end over the previous LS3 blocks in order to withstand the increased power, and that these improvements were going to be incorporated into the LS3 also, beginning sometime in 2009. So...this means that this year's LS3 block is going to be a little better than last year's. I don't know, but I would expect that this would apply to the L92 as well. It would seem to make sense for them to just make one block.
. They also informed me that I am getting the LS3 block (I ordered the L92 with no change in price) and that, yes, it is a stronger block than last years block. When I spoke with them they informed me that my block was in the machine shop, then on to assembly and should ship by the end of the first week of March.

It looks like there are 2 common casting numbers on the 6.2 blocks, 12584724 and 12621766. Does anyone know which casting is more recent or better casting?
