Default ls1 heads on a 6.0 ls2?

Has anyone ever put a set of 853 cylinder heads on a 6L ls2 block? I know they will fit and I know its a down grade, but I'm on a bugdet and this is what I've got. I have a ls6 intake with a ported throtle body. I think that will help a little. I plan to ugrade to the 243's sometime down the line, but just want to know if anyone has done this and if they still made in the 350hp or better range.

And then i would open up the chambers for bigger bore on each side next to the valves, should be better.

the same if you use 243 i would open up the chambers... too.

good luck

I wouldn't do it. If you look you could find a set of 243 (LS2) heads for cheap....I have a set just sitting.

I can understand being on a budget I was two for my cam/head swap. But if I was you I would just wait and find a set of 243's. I payed 450 for mine brand new. I Then turned around and sold the ls6 springs they came with for 60 and my old 241 heads for 175. so I got better flowing heads new valves/guides/seals for 215 bucks IMHO If you planning on swapping on a set of 243's later Id just wait its far to much work to do later just to save 215 now.
