FWIW the SCAT rods are only .015 offset so they are almost on center. The normal SBC is more like .030-.035 offset. I don't know why SCAT did it like that but it makes it easier to use them on LSx stuff at least than other normal SBC stuff.
Any word out on the new compstar cranks that are made from a different alloy? I've seen them sell in the $500-600 dollar range and figured they would be great for NA builds, etc.

Thing is that 500hp is nothing for a crankshaft - (most?) stock LS crankshafts can hole 800-1000hp.
Callies is using 5140 steel for the $500-$600 cranks, supposedly they can handle more than 500 hp, which is great for budget guys and their builds.

I REALLY like the Compstar C series crank. They help keep cost down, do not take alot to finish balance, and are readily avail. We have them in the 4" stroke and the 3.825 stroke. One of the local guys is building a 366 with an LS1 and the 3.825 crank on a budget. It will work out nice for him I am sure. He just got the crank and is waiting on pistons.
FWIW I have seen either Speed Inc or VA Speed take one of the C series cranks to over 700 HP on a turbo build. Good price and good quality and good availability.

I have heard the RPM international cranks and rods are a good bit of gear for the price has anyone else used them.I have a mate with one of there small block 350 cranks with no issues . What is the c series cranks going for.
They are around $569. Right now Keith Black makes pistons for the 6.125 x 3.825 crank and rods. They come with rings. I am sure I could mix and match a piston with a certain CH and either the 6.100 rod or the 6.125 rod and make it work. I had a combo worked up with a 6.100 rod, but it was easier to use the 6.125. More choices really.

Hmmm a 366 sounds ok. Is that with a stock length rod? How would you go with pistons?.
