Default 500 whp possible with an LQ4, L92 heads and LS3 manifold?

im thinkin bout doin the lq4 swap and was wondering if 500 whp is possible if i went with L92 heads and a LS3 manifold. stock bottom end cubic inch lq4. would basically b a stock top end wich includes L92 heads, LS3 manifold and 90mm throttle body, LS2 fuel rails, and 42 lb injectors. and a cam custom cut. i really would just want a very stout st car with lots of torque and decent top end for roll racing. what do you guys think? any info would be great!

it's possible only if you have a freeking huge cam... a friend of mine have a ly6 with ported l92, ported ls3 manifold 90 mm, 42 lbs an a mild cam:229/235 .639 .617 114LSA+2. it makes 463 whp thru a 9 inch and a t56 full bolt-on
and 420 wtq

He cant go freaking huge since he's using stock L92 heads

To get 500, Valvetrain package, P & P the heads, fast 102, big cam, and a little magic.

i found some pretty good info in this thread. pretty much the results i would be lookin for. the torque in the dyno graph seem pretty good for a street car.

First off you will be behind the race due to your compression... a Lq4 is 9.6.... Even if you mill the heads .030 you will only be at 10:1 at best.... You will have to run a pretty big stick... Now there are guys claiming to get close to 500 rwhp with a 230/230 115+2 or 231/234 114+2 but these where M6 cars and ran a minimum of 10:5- 11:1+ comp....... but I would be suspect of the lowend.... That cam in your link may work for you... I would def mill your heads since you have the dish pistons.......

hmm yea i didnt even think about the cr difference of the ls2 and lq4. damn. i would for sure want my cr around 10.5.1 or 11.1. and i dont want to buy knew pistons cuz i already have the lq4 short block. looks like ima have to do some thinking.

dont really have the money to do that now. i would have waited for the motor to let go first than think about a 402/ 408 ci. damn. ill probably just sell the motor to fund for something else.

Check out these 2 articles:

Granted, that is running with a carb and single plane manifold, through full headers on an engine dyno, but it is ballpark for what you are looking at.
Don't know how much the intakes and more compact car headers would make.

Like paq said, you need a bigger cam and a fast intake... my ported LS3 killed me 30 cfm on my ported L92.

On my setup, I only have 10:1 of compression and my L92 are .035" milled.

Can't you swap in LQ9 pistons for higher CR?

if you want power for cheap, put your set up together, tune it in, then install a small N20 kit, and your at your goal, but 500rwhp, with that set up, is not going to happen, you lookin at around 430ish, with a decent tune..

My 2 cents

Lq9, Ls3 Heads, L76 Intake, 92mmTB, 65lbz, 255 pump, 1-7/8's, TD's, M6, 12-bolt, 4:10's
I made 527/475 to the wheels an the tune hasn't been finished yet because i'm still reading on the best MAF to put on the car. I don't know what the difference is, but these numbers were made in march an i'm about to get it retuned since the break in has been done and another tuner with more experience is going to go through it an pick me up some more numbers i'm hoping along with another badass custom camshaft from TSP to go along with the single plane vic jr an 4150 TB.
