We all sit in our cars on the trailers going down the road making our own engine noises..Vette guys are different. Sometimes we even wear helmets just to look cool.

Damn, you must have seen my VIR road course videos - I thought I make good "Vroom Vroooom" engine noises while on my trailer in the Paddock! It saves me gas and rubber, and is still intimidating to the competition (at least while they're on their trailers)! I also do a wicked "heel toe shifting" sound too! LOL gyrene2003 - Thanks. If you click on the pic in my first post it will take you to a video from VIR on the grand course. I also drive a Mustang GT on the road course - the pony cars are a lot of fun too.

Can't wait to get it back to VIR!!
Keep your eye on your oil pressures, the accusump may not be enough depending on what tires you are running

Correct. The LS2, LS3, and LS7 blocks all have high G cornering issues with oil pressure. Mostly sustained high G left hand corners. GM did not design the block to be able to withstand 1+ G's

the last thing you want to do when you are traveling to the track is have your car break down on track or at track and leave you **** out of luck with no way to get home but spend more money on renting a truck and trailer to get you and the car back

$400 to tow car from VIR back to home after C6 mod on FAST came loose at track. I trailer now. Much more convenient anyway.

when you're doing track days, and you have the means to tow, it really is the best way to go about it even if the "track car" is street legal. You never know what will happen.

Hi Aloha,

Looks like you have an amazing build coming up.

Not to stray off-topic, but would you mind telling me what happened to the 383? And by 5 years of service, how much of that was at track events -- like, how many hours/events did you log?

Thanks

The bottom end (bearings) gave out - eating themselves up and eventually locking up the engine - its difficult to pin point the exact cause of the failure - one theory was momentary oil starvation. It was as if my LS6 383 said, "I've given you all I can and served you well, but its time for me to go to sleep.....forever." No drama. I was at WOT on the front straight of VIR working on another great lap time, when the RPMs started to drop until the engine shut down, requiring me to coast it off Turn #1 for recovery. I did approx. 10 two-day events per year plus driving to work during the summer.

I can't go.

I have the club Championship. I've been getting ready for this for a while.
