Nope. The Corvette wins every time! If the C5 is in the shop or just not ready for a particular event, then the Mustang (daily driver) comes out to play. Not a bad backup road course car!! http://www.vimeo.com/14755898

I should be receiving an update from Ed at VA Speed on initial dyno numbers as he begins the tuning process!! Here's a video from a friend of mine chasing me in his C6 Z06 with my old LS6 383 setup at VIR:

Always late for the party. Yep, that's me LOL

Anyways, here's some pics. We're wrapping it up now. Hope to have it strapped down before the end of the day.

We relocated the oil and trans coolers. The oil cooler is mounted right behind the front license plate. The plate can be removed for track action. The trans cooler is right behind the driver's side vent. The brake duct will still be in it's normal place, and functional.

Cutout behind it to route the air.

Here's a side view. You can see the ducting.

Hope to have some numbers shortly.

Nice work guys. You're in good hands.

Do you ever make it up to Pocono, Lime Rock, or Watkins Glen?

Hey Ed,

Sweet job on the oil cooler shrouding. Got to love the pieces that bind the hoses to each other and the way the hoses are anchored. Super clean and professional job but I expect no less from you guys.

Brian did a real good job on the coolers and hoses. He does some pretty good fab work.

BTW- we did make 507 and 454tq. exactly where i planned it to be. Every now and then i hit one on the head

Shawn, I enjoyed talking to Brian while at the shop and seeing all the fine work he's done on my vette - nice fabrication for the coolers!! Looks like solid performance numbers for the LS2! Looking forward to the final dyno results and graph to see the power under the curve. You know I CAN'T wait to get this car back on the track at VIR!?! Good job! I know Ed has a few more items to work before its done. Hold on..... wait a second..... I'm on the "Bat Phone"! LOL I keep staring at the photos of the cooler shrouding, lines, etc. - very professional. Mike

Ed, overlay the LS6 383 over the LS2 403 dyno results - cool to see a before and after comparison. Mike

It will be interesting to see the graph - specially the torque line.

Now, get off my phone.

Looks like a torque gain of 20 from 2500 to 4300, and a gain of 10 horsepower from 3000 to 4300, and then more gains at 5200+. Shifting at 6200 RPMs for peak performance. What size cam do you spec for this setup? Looks good.

i would consider it pretty good gains. only so much i can do with a 205cc head. according to Ed the engine is milder than it was before. I will pm you the cam specs later.

I think the numbers are very good! A set of 215cc heads, FAST 102mm and larger 1 7/8" headers will really wake up this new setup. Some day I'll have the budget to make those upgrades, but this power is MORE than enough to be a beast on the road courses!! Thanks guys. Mike

Very nice with the 90/90 setup and 1 3/4 LT's and 205's.
