Default How much spring load will the LS7 lifters take?

So i just got some new AFR 1040s that were ordered with the AFR-8002 springs and i have been told they might be to much for a hydraulic lifter unless i spend a grip and get something like Morel lifters. I dont really want to pull the springs and get others since everythin is setup and brand new now. These will be goin on a built 356 with a 224-230 .57s lift cam. The motor now has a smaller comp cam with im guessing comp cams lifters....anyone know if the lifters i have will work fine? If not what should i do...i have been told i maybe could run the LS7 lifters?

spring specs. #8002

First question is why do you think you need so much spring pressure.

Also, your link does not work.

I bought the heads off a member on another forum and they were opdered with the better springs vs the 8017s they come with. I got them for a killer deal and i could nto pass them up. I have had people tell me i can run LS7 lifters and call t good and now have had people tell me it might to to much pressure for a cast cam

provided you're running them at 1.950-1.970 installed height, don't see a issue.

Did they cut that pocket for that larger diameter and make the cut extra deep to get that extra installed height, or are they running a long valve? I agree, as long as you have them at that taller height, they look fine.

Only run as much spring preasure as needed because you will be just losing hp to unneeded preasure

Maybe i could get them re shimmed to lower the pressure some. I have been told that the the way they are now i could break my cast cam with that kind of pressure....?

hydraulic roller wouldn't be overall concerned with cast camshaft.

Solid roller we use steel core.
