Default Can brand new head gaskets be reused????

Hey guys,

I'm in the middle of doing a heads/cam swap on the LS2. Last night I accidentally Bolted the heads down and forgot to reinstall the lifters. Opps.

My question is, can I reuse those brand new gaskets even though I have already bolted the heads down to spec? Or will I need new gaskets?

Thanks guys

You can still use them, no problems! However, if you used GM head bolts and already torqued them, they are done for and need to be replaced.

Thanks guys. I'm using ARP bolts so I'm good there. I was sure I could reuse them but I figured I'd rather ask.

Since I started copper spraying mine, I had less issues pushing water at over 14psi... Now all of them get sprayed no matter what.

+1 I spray a lot of stuff now just as a precaution. It cant hurt so why not? Its more protection and the stuff works brilliantly and LASTS too. Theres no downside to copper spraying head gaskets aside from the cost of the spray itself

What brand and part# is the copper spray you guy's use? i would reuses the head gasket but keep them in the same location so that if there was any imperfection in head and block that the impression in head gasket would be in same spot.
