Default Building a 427 6 bolt turbo motor...head choices

So whats the best we got out right now? Carey old ETP heads LSXR or trickflow or the LSx GM heads. The GM heads are about the same price when you port them out so its really just whats the best.

6 bolt head 427 turbo motor 15-20lbs street 25+ on good gas.

Id like to crack 1000rwhp on pump 93 but I dont care for #s just throwing that out there lol.

Dennis from vette doctors is building the motor its a ERL LS6 block 427. Custom turbo cam by dennis.

Motor goes in this month then I break her in and save for some twin 67s and good fuel setup!

We can port the GM LSX castings if you like. We also have a new aftermarket casting that will be available very soon that is a 6-bolt design for about the same money. That port went mid 390's on a 4.070" bore if I'm remembering correctly. Should go over 400 cfm on a 4.125" bore. Let me know if you are interested or have any questions!

Phil Thomas - PHIL99VETTE - was selling his ETP 6 bolt LS7 heads. Don't know if he sold them yet. PM him.

The prc new ls7 casting is a great option if your 3-4 weeks out. I think it'll be the best ls7 head available and won't cost 3000 plus dollars...

The Mast stuff is the best I feel. That is the way I went. If you can afford to do it that would be the best choice.

I did see this past weekend at IMIS Show a new head that RHS did. It is a really nice part. I don't know what they are getting for them. It is called Pro Elite Aluminum LS7 head. I think it is like a 290 Runner. That would be great for what you want.

The one nice thing that I can say about the Mast stuff is it has proven time after time that the castings are the best. That is one thing you never hear is that anyone has casting issues and in a boosted engine. They will be the first to have a problem and I know people that have had 40PSI and no problems.

Good luck

All the heads you listed are good proven performers except the GM head as it is so new. It is bound to be good stuff also.
For the price and your goals the Trickflow would be the first choice for me. Would like to see the PRC head when it releases as the pricing is going to be aggressive on those for the LS7 style port.

Hey Kurt, tell CraZee about Mark Koehler's hyd roller cammed engine you built with TFS 245 heads (the TFS LS7 255's will be better) that makes over 2000 hp

That engine was impressive, the head flat works. I think Mark should say how many 7 second runs he made on them.
