Default 2010 LS3 into 99 TA questions

I have a 2010 Camaro LS3 that has the crank sensor replaced with 24 tooth. The cam/timing chain will be replaced with LS2 (3 bolt cam) set up along with LS2 cam sensor. I have the harness for the cam/knock sensors. I will modify the MAP sensor hole on the LS3 intake (hole is bigger on the LS3 intake).

Before I tackle this engine swap, did I forget anything? Any input would be appreciated from members who have done this swap.

Are you going running the LS3 injectors? If so do you have the adapters? thats the only thing i can think of, seems like you have it covered.

you can also send your stock injectors sent to FIC and have them enlarged to a 50ish or whatever you decide to run for 200 bux its not bad either.

Your going to need a special bracket that the TB cable attaches to. Also the cam gear needs to be the one where its half raised, and half flush. I think thats what the other guy meant by 1x.

Scoggin Dickey Parts Center sells the Throttle Body Bracket for the LS3 Intake. It bolts between the throttle body and the Intake and allows you to run a Cable Driven Throttle Body!
I'm sure you already have the LS1 F-Body Oil Pan, Harness, and accessories. But just in case, I figured I'd throw it out there. You never know what you'll forget when doing a swap!

Let me know how things turn out and if you find anything else that needs to be modified. I am looking at doing this same swap into a 2001 Trans Am.

I have a LS3 setup like that for your 512mb ECU if you need a flash to start with. Use EFI-Live.
Chris.

Thanks guys for the input. I do have the LS2 timing set that will work with the 24 crank sensor/cam sensor. I also have the injector adaptors to use LS3 injectors. The cable bracket I forgot so I'll be getting them.

I have to drill and tap the side of the block to get the old knock sensors installed. I already have the harness for the knock sensors and the map sensor.

I'll have the big pilot bearing removed and the smaller one installed (M6).

I'll post again if I think of anything else.

Well the LS3 is in and running. All the little things have been worked out except one issue. I have a P0343 (Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit High Voltage) and checked the 3 way connector (after the short harness from the sensor near front cover) and there isn't a cam sensor signal. I'm using a cam sensor from 2005 GTO and the jumper harness from the sensor to the bottom of the front cover. I will remove the water pump/sensor to see what is causing this but if there is anyone out there did this swap I would appreciate any insight on this issue. Thanks in advance.

I did try swapping the pins but didn't work. It's the Lingenfelter harness I believe.

Im with you, ^^^ you can use a LS2 cam gear in a LS1 style block were the cam sensor is in the rear of the block ,but you can not use a LS1 cam gear in a LS2. The LS2 has a raised face about haft way around the gear for the cam sensor to read the signal from. This is a LS2 stlyle gear below & Harness cross over from a LS1 to a LS2 cam sensor

The harness was from Katech not Lingenfelter. Randy, Ill try that with the wires. Here is the cam gear.

I'll try switching the wires first.
