We hit the magic number!?!?!?! Great! The valve-train noise I don't like to hear about though.

Is that bad? They said its normal. It's not too bad, I guess I'm just not used to it being audible.

the car is really insane to drive, definitely going to pick up some drag radials. I keep getting a P0300 random misfire code, and my traction control comes and goes. also It has stalled a couple times. Tuner said Within the month their inhouse dyno will be done, and we can fine tune it a little more.

No it's not bad, but it's funny you mention it. We've done a fair amount of these cams already here at our shop and other customers across the country. You and one other person have said the valve-train is a little loud, but the others haven't mentioned it. One of the customers that mentioned it is one that we did ourselves that had milled heads. We used a 7.350" push rod on it to get the pre-load that we like to see(.060"-.080" going by turns) and it was a bit loud. The others we've done with 7.400" push rods and stock heads were quiet as a church mouse. Yours is using 7.400" push rods though correct?

It isn't something that you should worry about though as the valve-train noise will be slightly elevated with an aftermarket camshaft.

Sounds great! I knew you would love the power band of the cam as the torquemax series is about one thing and one thing only and that is massive torque production out of these little engines.

yea 7.4 push rodss I believe. Im running stock lifters as well, so maybe when I do heads and run new lifters itll help. Its not deafining, but I can hear it clearly in the cabin, and thats new. lol.

so its been over a month, car is still going strong. I'd still like to get some more dyno tuning. the one thing i noticce is it doesnt have a cold start like other cars ive seen where it idles really low when you start it. it basically idles at 1500, then 1200, then drops to around 1000-800 rpms.

next is heads. I have no clue what heads I want, but I want a decent chunk of power, and I want to put new rockers and lifters in when I do them.

Then it probably has too much running airflow if it hangs like that. It is very easy to fix. As far as the rockers and lifters go I do recommend new lifters like a nice link bar, or LS7 if you're on a budget. For heads the best thing to get would be 5.3 heads or 243/799 heads and have them sent to Advanced Induction or TEA. That will get you the most power for your dollar spent. You would have a really stout combination with a set of heads from either company. I would worry only about upgrading the trunions of the rockers and keep the stock ones that you have as they are as light as you can get for LS rockers without spending crazy money.
