Got my timing set in and like a dumbass I forgot to order a dampener and cam bolts lol...so those are now on order...

I emailed Chris over at Circle-D and we are thinking that a 4200-4400 stall triple disk will fit the bill for this build....Martin says the cam will like a 4400 so it is looking like that is what I will go with...Now I need to order the trans rebuild kit so I can get to work on that project. I got a 4l80e service manual a while back so I will be studying up on that, as well as hitting up youtube to get as educated as possible on the 4l80e rebuild process....from what I have read/watched so far it is fairly straight forward...anyone in here ever done one?

Exactly the point I was getting at. Beryllium Copper seats are used in a lot of race engines with titanium valves so that the seats will wear and not the valves, as well as for thermal reasons as well. In a race engine, it's better to cut a new valvejob every now and then versus replacing valves.

Now GM has been infusing copper into the PM matrix of their seats and Melling has released a line of valve seats with copper in it too. I think they call it their "Killer Bee" line, but I've yet to see them available at EPW or anywhere else for that matter.

got the same trans from a ole work-truck redone in 07 by PerformanceAuto&Trans:4l80e Level 2 Bionic 80 with a spag up grade. TCI controller $589.oo. Tunnel work and a custom cross-member...Circle d 4000-4200 single disc stall runs like a 3400. to match the solid roller Martin did 4 the 416 i'm going 2 finish the little 1 first. 479 crank & rods R in the closet...The engine build and dyno time is what cost. Circle d may sell it 2 u or look 4 the quadzilla trans thats who did mine they sell the kit....also the TRANSGO KIT may help U out . Century trans also in Houston may have the kit. RED/BLUE clutch kit came with it on my rebuild level2.

Yeah I have since been educated on the seat material and we decided that the steel seats and coated Ti valves to get the reliability and longevity that we want out of the engine

Got most of my sensors on the way....water temp, 2 knock sensors, oil pressure, map, and crank position....The cam position sensor will come with the new front cover....the intake has a tps on it so i will probably just use that...I am now trying to figure out what IAT sensor to use but I will get my tuner to find out from holley on that one when he orders the Dominator...

Not a whole lot is going now right now...just collecting small parts...I got the set of align-it tools from SacCityCorvettes so that will make engine assembly a little easier towards the end...Frankenstein is still waiting on the head castings before he can get to work on them and we are still waiting on the short block from ERL....I will keep you updated as things progress....

Great news....After going back and forth with both Billet Specialties and Hydratech we have established that I will be able to run a hydroboost brake set up with the Tru Trac PS pump....I just have to run a flow restrictor and the proper reservoir and I will be good to go!!!! So no more of this electric-hydroboost nonsense!!!!

Valve job got done on the heads today, the port work will begin tomorrow and they "should" be done by monday...fingers crossed..... Martin is chomping at the bit to get the numbers from Chris on the heads so he can finalize the cam specs...And I don't blame him....

Still waiting to hear back from ERL about the short block...updates to come later next week hopefully

Starting to come time to order a set of head gaskets...I am looking at a cometic MLS 4.200" bore with 0.051" thickness. What are y'alls opinions on head gaskets for this build?
