Things I know I need are pushrods, which I am going to measure once I get the heads on, then I can order a set. I also know I need a set of valve cover gaskets.
Now my questions:
1 What sort of assembly lube should I use for stuff like the cam when assembling the engine?
2 What oil should I soak the lifters in prior to installing them?
3 What is the proper procedure for measuring for pushrod length, (I have a comp pushrod length checker already)?

I know it answers 1. and 2. but I am not sure on #3.
I am following along for the ride - looks like a great time. Take lots of pictures, please.
