Gotcha... I just didn't want to see you disappointed. That is a lot of power to ask for 93 octane, but that's what they said 9 years ago about the 650 & 700hp mark. Time marches on.

i agree Brian.....and you should be satisfied in the end. Of course when you get a dyno number there's always the discussion around the dyno itself (is it tight or lose). At that point you then have to go to the track and get an MPH and race weight to get yet another number to debate.

I work with a bunch of engineers as myself and we constantly "bench race" on the "what ifs".....and in the end it really doesnt matter because you should have a smile on your face, you actually made some HP at the end of the day....

Keep working at it you're doing a great job, can't wait to see the final product.

I personally have run a 255/264
Two of my cars.

First used it in my 2011 camaro that weighed 4klbs and now in my c5z06..

Hell my 75 year old grandfather likes to cruise the Vette to work with that cam and a 429 ls7 based motor.. So the driveability is decent. The clutch hurts the driveability more than the cam.

Still on schedule to dyno the engine tomorrow...I will find out for sure by the end of the day today though...fingers crossed!!!

Engine got fired up tonight!!! It is running with good oil pressure, no ticks, no knocks!!! Talk about relieved, and excited when I got that text!

So we should have some numbers tomorrow!!

Oh I'm going to be there for the power pulls...and honestly it is probably better that I wasn't there for the initial start up...I would have been wigging out...

Numbers are in!!! We didn't hit the 800hp goal, as many expected we wouldn't, but we did get 736hp out of it, along with a staggering 720ft-lb of torque....I am working on getting the dyno graphs emailed to me, because I somehow forgot to bring a flash drive with me...dummy....but over all I am very happy with it. I think the torque will be unreal when I get it in the car and on the road....

Also just a side note, and I'm not saying that the engine made more power than the 736, but there was an engine that made 800hp on another dyno, got freshened up with just new rings and bearings, and then made 650hp on this dyno....the car ran the same et and mph in the 1320 before and after the freshen up....so I think the numbers we got may be a little down in comparison to other dyno's, but either way I am happy with the numbers that we got...
