right now we have it on a very safe tune. 6800. I just hold the wheel and let it shift by itself. Not sure if I really need to shift it a whole lot higher, might try 7200 range next time. If I was going to be motor only I think I would try more gear also. Love the cam! thank you for the camshaft and all the components, worked out beautiful.

At first I thought just maybe it was a little too big since I do like to drive it but after a good tune, it runs great. Just a few small hic cups still, but Jeramy F should be able to fix that also. He wants to put it on a dyno and plot out the rpm's so we can decide shift points. Here I was hoping for 10:50's at best when all said and done and now I see it has more in it. So I think of running 9's will be doable without much nitrous.

Its nice when you have a forum and people share their builds as thats what helped made me decide when I saw Speedtiggers build thread. I'm amazed as to how some guys can document their builds with all this great info and pictures, I have just a hard enough time typing lol.

I had a friend do the same thing with his 1967 Vette. He has the original 427 stored away and went with the LS3 based 427. He took it on the power tour last year and is going to do it again this year. He has made some revisions this year in the exhaust, cam and cold air intake so he should be even better this time out. Those mods should put him well into the 10 second 1/4 mile range.

Speedtigger did a great job on his thread. I wish mine was that well documented.

Try 7000, I bet it only goes faster.

Congrats on the great progress!

Formato is an excellent tuner.
It'll be right when he's finished tuning.

If you have a hydraulic cam and change it to it's LLSR equivalent, would the piston to valve clearance be the same (in theory)? ( Installed into the same set-up)

Yes it would be very close to the hydraulic cam. Even if you added a little more lift to the LLSR.

Kip,
Have you ever thought about getting a hold of any magazines to show off how much better your LLSSR cams are vs. Hydro cams? I think Speedtigers thread opened ALOT of eyes here.

I know when I eventually do a stoker, it will get your cam.

We would like to but you must be a big advertiser plus some big companys have first shot. They can ever block you if they are big enough

Word of mouth seems to be working pretty well.

Exactly, if it wasn't for speed tiger's posts I would not have known how good the cams work. That's why I bought mine.

I keep coming back to this but I find it tough to justify the cost. I come up with $4300 in parts (excluding tax & shipping), $1250 to port the heads, and another $500 for the tune. That's $6K plus local labor to R&R the parts.

That's assuming new heads @$500 instead of used and without accounting for resale of old parts. Just seems like too much cost for the gains. I think that's most of the way to a basic FI solution, but I don't want to deal with controlling the additional heat under the hood.

We have to get together. I have not seen the LStang since you put the new bullet in.
