Default LS3 metal Shavings in oil

The engine in my 08 vette has always seemed to have a noisy valvetrain ever since i bought it with 25,000miles 4 years ago (especially on the passenger side). I took it in to 2 GM dealerships and both said it was "normal". I read that was normal so i never thought about it.

So 2 years ago i decided to replace my oil drain plug with one that has a magnet attached just to be curious and each time there is a bunch of fine metal that accumulates on the tip of the magnet (smooth to touch with my fingers). Can also see the metallic in the oil when you shine a flashlight on it. Happens each oil change. Car now has 34,000miles on it.
IS THIS NORMAL??? see pics.

IF this is infact NOT normal then the only explanation i can think of might be caused by damage to something after i sucked in 3/4 cup of 'sea foam' induction through the brake booster and shutting the engine off immediately causing the engine to diesel and knock while it shut down. I did this 3 years ago. Maybe i bent a valve or pushrod or damaged a rocker bearing or something?

How many miles between oil changes? I have a 1997 chevy truck that I've owned for over 8 years and probably put 80-90 thousand on it and the plug looks just like that every time. Always ran great.

Edit: I doubt you did any damage with the sea foam, If you had it probably would have been immediate and very noticeable.

Oh is that right? Ok, well thats some good news to hear then. I was wondering if i hydrolocked slightly with the SeaFoam...

I should have mentioned in the beginning that I have nothing to compare this oil to.

Oil change was at 3000 miles.

You can send an oil sample in to be tested, there are several companies that do it.
It will tell you what's in the oil and where it may have come from.
That is more than I would want to see at 3,000 miles.

This is pretty much all you can do, impossible to guess if any damage has been done..

I don't think anything is wrong, normal sludge.

Do a leak down test and if it passes and you have good oil pressure then drive it like you stole it..

Cool thanks, yeah I thought of that but didn't want/could ship my oil off anywhere, however a buddy from work mentioned a local place called "Case n drum" might analyze it, ill see if i can get there Monday.
