Hi All,
My wife has the 2013 Denali 6.0L I believe. It has 52,000 miles on it
serviced properly at the dealership it was purchased from. My buddy
is the Manager for the sales dept. So I was driving it a week ago and it started ticking at around 1800 RPM I wasn't far from home so I drove the rest of the way got home checked the oil level it was fine. had it towed to the dealership and they found some of the lifters stuck collapsed. The dealership replaced all the lifter patted me on the *** and sent me on my way no charge. My question to them was why did the lifters fail? Answer from serves rep was it most likely had to do with the Active fuel management. Myself it sound like a BS story I think at the last service the dealership put the wrong oil in the car? But I could be wrong on that.
Any input as to a cause would be appreciated
TIA

I was unaware of the AFM issues.
Would it be wise to disable the system or could this
affectt the warranty.
To clear up my thoughts on wrong oil possibly
used for all I know they could have put hydraulic
fluid in it.

You can delete the DOD/AFM system. A lot of sponsors sell the kit. BTR and TSP both do:
TSP: https://www.texas-speed.com/p-717-do...elete-kit.aspx
BTR: http://www.briantooleyracing.com/btr...elete-kit.html
It would affect the warranty most likely. Warranty isn't anything I've ever cared about...

IIRC.............. I wonder what AFM lifters GM put in the GEN Vs. I would hope the had the insight to change the design of the AFM lifters or zero in on the supplier who sends them failure prone products.
