Good afternoon LS1 Tech-
I'm prepping to do some upgrades for my SS Trailblazer in the next couple of weeks. I have right at 225,000 miles on her, all mostly highway miles, and I have a few lifters that just started to make noise. At first, it was very intermittent, but then it became more constant....
With 225,000, I have decided to do a few upgrades, since I have to replace the lifters and that requires me to pull the heads. I will send the heads off to be completely re-worked, milled, ported, and polished. Here are my current plans:
• TSP 224/224 .600/.600 112LSA Cam
• .650 Titanium Dual Spring Kit
• 7.4 Chromemoly Pushrods
• LS7 Lifters
• LS2 Timing Chain
• Melling High Pressure Oil Pump
• Kooks 1 7/8 LT Headers
• Kooks High Flow Catt'd Y-Pipe
• MagnaFlow Cat-Back Exhaust
• NKG TR55 Plugs
• MSD 8.5 Super Conductor Wires
With that being said- I have searched all over the internet for threads, videos, and pictures of people removing the heads on the SS Trailblazer. I've found a few threads, and even a PDF that I downloaded.
My question for the audience, and anyone reading: Has Anyone on here ever done this on a SS Trailblazer. If you have, what advice can you give me? Are there any shortcuts, or anything you've learned that could help or assist me? I've listed everything I'm upgrading, is there anything I'm missing?
Feel free to flame me if this question has been asked, but there's no section for the SS Trailblazer, and I'm not a member to any SS Trailblazer Forums.
I truly appreciate all the input and positive criticism.
Carl

Smart money would be to tackle those while I'm that far in there. Here's a few pictures of my SS Trailblazer.

Other than this dang lifter ticking like crazy- it's been a blast to own and drive. It was bone stock when I bought it, so I've slowly tried to upgrade it and bring it back to life. My only other issue I've experienced was the Fuse Box/Relay Panel that is in the engine bay shorted out on me, driving from Greenville SC back to Huntsville AL. After days of troubleshooting at Rick Hendrick Chevrolet, the dealership replaced the Throttle Body, ECM, and the Fuse Box/Relay Panel. It has the craziest symptoms and would give the Dealership Multiple Codes. The truck would just shut itself off while driving down the interstate, cruising at about 70 MPH or so.....

Thank You for that info!! I joined that site over a year ago, but was never able to post or look at any of the threads. After shooting a few emails to one of the Moderator's, my account was finally fixed.
I posted that same question over there, same screen-name, and a ton of people chimed in with advice!! I was shocked and speechless with everyone giving me advice.
Since then, I have also decided to add or upgrade:
* Motor Mounts
* Trunion Rocker Arm Kit/Upgrade
* PCM of NC Pickup Tube Relocation Kit
* PCM of NC Electric Fan Kit
* 160 Degree Thermostat
Pending how long it takes the Machine Shop to rebuild/mill my heads, I may have them port them as well.
