Default AFR 205 59cc..

I've come across a set of used AFR 205 59cc heads here for the same price as ported 243's. Problem is there's no data on them on the AFR website. Am I right in thinking these are the equivalent of a standard head 243 head that have been milled 0.0327 if 1cc = 0.006 of milling and the 243 head is 64.45cc? Will these heads do the job with a 227/235 comp cam or are they a touch small these days (I'm just assuming since everyone has 215/225 heads)

I ran them out of the box with a 233/239 cam, ls6 intake, ported TB stock LS1 and made 440rwhp/385rwtq at 62cc with a 90* bend in the intake. A straight shot intake like a Vette would add another 10-15rwhp.

2900lb car with driver went 128.3mph in the 1/4.

If you snag the AFRs make sure they are stock port job. I would hate to have someone other than AFR or Mamo touch them (screw them up)

No they just been milled down. Have 10k miles on them but have only have .600 lift springs fitted. Will there been much of a difference compared to cnc'd and milled 243 heads with a 227/235 cam?

They should make comparable power up top, but will make killer torque down low simply because of the smaller and more eficient port.

Given the same price, I would take the AFRs all day long. However for the right price and in the hands of a proper porter, the 243s can be very good esecially bang for the buck.

I agree. For the same $ or close to the same price, I'd take the AFRs. Hands down.

AFR's hands down. Power under the curve makes them a lot of fun.

Before you buy them, make sure there is no missing material between the intake and exhaust valves. Every used set I've ever seen is missing material between the valves. Even bought a used set of AFR's like that and did not run them.
