Default L92 bearing clearences

Hi I am re building my L92, I plan on just doing a mild cam, anyways by main and rod bearing clearence is .002 which is consistent on all bearings, anyways do you think I should tighten up clearences on rods with a calico coating? The engine is pretty much a sticker

Mains are perfect. I like the rods a touch looser than that but what you have will work

Yeah I thought to go tighter on rods haha, it's a pretty much a sticker with mild cam, I am doing all forged internals, because I am going to supercharge it, with very low boost and probably water/meth injection to prevent detonation

I think your mains are a little to tight. What are you checking this with plati gauge?

With a aluminum block .002 is as loose as I would go if you want it to have oil pressure at hot idle. Rods you might want to see if you can get a set of x bearings and use 1/2 for a extra .0005 clearance.

Wouldn't it be the other way around the tighter the more oil pressure. I have .002 bearing clearence on mains, I was thinking of going to have the main bearings coated to close up clearence.
Thanks

Read wrong, should I get mains coated by calico.

I would just buy the coated bearing from clevite if you want coated bearings. Using coating to set the clearance is not the way I would do it. You will be fine where you are at

On something like this, I would set the mains and rods at about .003" and have the bearings coated by PolyDyne here in Houston. The coating drops the clearance down to about .002". Most power adders on "low boost" rarely ever stay on low boost. When that bug hits you and you swap the pulleys for more manifold pressure, the coating can be sacrificed without hurting the engine when more clearance is needed for the higher power level.

Rpm, are not going to exceed the stock rev limit as this is going to be a daily driver, but like posted above I should just keep what I have?
