Default LSX Block vs Dart Block

Ok, I'm getting ready to build a 427 and my engine builder just ask me what do I think about the Dart Block, the problem I'm having is I absolutely know nothing about the dart block. I had my hart set on the LSX, so tell me what's the better Block and why?

Depends what you're using it for. The Dart block has 4 bolt mains similar to an older SBC/SBF and no side skirts, so you can use an oil pan with big kickouts to help with windage. However, if you're planning on using an OEM style pan, it's not really an advantage.

The tall deck Dart blocks look like they're much better than the GM block. They raised the cam and have a much taller deck height, so you can get some big displacement out of it.

The Dart block is a much better piece. Also you can get an SHP version with skirts to utilize a factory style pan if need be.

I used the GM LSX Block for my C5 Build, very happy with it,
So was my builder. My .02, for Tall Deck go Dart for reasons
Already mentioned, for conversions or transplants standard
Height Dart may be advantageous, for original LS Vehicles
I don't believe there are benefits to Dart over LSX, and
LSX probably less hassle to fit regarding oil pan rails
Etc.

I'd go with the Dart, better machine work. Closer to finished bore size. Larger main fasteners, better cap design, better oiling system.

The SHP will hold everything the LSX will, the Dart LS Next is a better piece all around than the LSX. Main cap design is much, much better.

Dart's quality control is much better that some of the crap GMMP has let our the door. I have worked with them all. FWIW.

Would a taller deck block even fit a Fbody or C5?
