Well they're going for a 400 cid LS based engine that they hope will make 3 hp per cube. For the 400 NA ADRL Pro Stock class. That's 1200 + to us commoners.

Che70velle I got with the guy's doing the build being Greg and good guy told me about the work Warren Johnson did to the heads and that I've spoken to him also about all the stuff GM Didn't do that he being WJ insisted needed to be done on the LSX block. I'll say this it's no longer the same heads from casting by Edelbrock things have moved ports intake and exhaust and valves somewhat. Dart Pro Stock block is different also some things were deleted or non existent. I had a couple questions about heads and he loves heads also.

So, the heads being used here, are they the originals, or the “updated” versions?
I don’t think that WJ has ever looked at a block and liked it. I have a friend who helped me fit my pinned billet caps on my 434” block. He worked for WJ for many years, and has stories about the DRCE project. Locked doors, GM black ties, and hot tempers. Fun stuff to hear for sure.

These are what I like and looking for had to go Way back in the day. Look at the cc for runners and even fits a 4 inch bore. This is my starting baseline for ideas and what I want. Maybe a tad bit smaller in CC volume.

Patron! Good to see you on here. It’s been a little while. The link you posted for the heads doesn’t work.

Yea I was on a non voluntary vacation. Still facing a charge did time severed for one, now facing being a felon with a fire arm bonded out once I heard 2 to 5 yrs as my priors. Better to be caught with one than without being in Houston which is like the 6th most worst place in the US for being killed. One area here in Houston the odds are 1 in 11 people will be killed. It's all good, I'm happy to be able to get on a CPU. My service will be back up on the 22th all my other stuff was still being paid for my family just let my Direct TV, internet, and home phone go. AKA; Food in my ice box and my Pit Bull. I'm over family house down the street which is a 15 min. walk away.

Yea just chilling glad to hear and see you guy's still here, don't know how long I'll be around but oh well still got court in August. Still waiting for my AT&T service to be cut on tomorrow. Been reading about how a few friends with aluminum stock sleeve block 6.2's have had the cylinders move around on some high rpm and Nos builds. Guy's are filling the water jackets half way to keep the cylinders straight. Also see that Brodix has a new 300 cc head, * cut and paste as there not a sponsor* !!!! :

I really liked the Hot Rod intake test it wasn't a all out high HP test but it did confirm what I felt all along.

Here goes some valve lengths to look at to see the difference in runner height and placement
Typical Ls7 and Ls3 valve head lengths aftermarket included: Size x length 2.20 valve is typically the same.
Ls3
2.160 x 4.900 8mm Diameter Valve Stem

Ls7
2.250 x 5.200 8mm or 5/16 stem for all
2.250 x 5.450

RHS Ls7 heads Part Number: 6068-8
2.250 x 5.695 5/16 stem

GM LSX Dr Heads newer 10 mm raised runner
2.250 x 6.350 8mm

Mast SRT8 heads: new valve arrangement older CR5 valve length or runner placement
2.30/2.230 x 6.250 5/16

Mast Mozez heads
2.250 x 6.450 5/16

Chi 3v Pro heads
2.190 x 5.750 5/16

Couldn't find the Lsx R length for valve but did look.

WCCH also has a newer small bore 4.030 Brodix Ls7 head. 2.20 x 1.60 valve typical length.
States : Our newest option for use on 4.0" bore blocks and larger. This mini LS7 head allows the use of any LS7 style intake manifold and has an excellent flow curve. This program is designed to use the LS7 head's large 2.205" dia. intake valves and a 1.600" dia exhaust valves
Didn't get a chance to call Richard @ WCCH head but did talk to the guy's @ Brodix
for a quick second about this small bore head was told they can do pretty much anything with small stuff to the head to make it work. It would / should be better to ask Richard as he's the one who had them made by Brodix. That's kinda neat! As Brodix has everything from 260 cc ports to 300 cc ports and a small bore is kinda good, as well as just lets you know what can be done with Tooling a head on a CPU and small small changes.

I thought Richard was a sponsor ( talking about WCCH and the link above ). Here goes the flow chart for the Dart Lsx 10 degree race heads. Was reading that a friend has developed a port program for these also which flow well over 480 cfm @ .1000 lift this was what he got from Dart in the CnC 368cc version on his flow bench.
Quote: They start as Dart’s 368cc port and there are a few chips that come out with my cnc program. Darts program is great, and will work well on many combinations. I developed this program for big inch nitrous applications.

Intake / exhaust

Lift
200: 153 / N/a
300: 228 / 164
400: 300 / 164
500: 362 / 189 new flow 379 / 193
600: 409 /206
700: 440 /221
800: 442 /232
900: 445 /240 new flow 470 / 258
1000: 454 /246
1100: 462 /250
1200: 465 /255 new flow 489 / 281
Wide Open: 470 / 260 new flow 476 / 284

Zach has 2 standard deck blocks with machine work done...Dude owes $ for 2 long 1yr+
The 1 I'm getting has 60 mm roller cam bearings, but was a FI build that blew up. 1 sleeve needed and some hard block. Dude also lost the mains. Not all can go to .250 over also gaskets get thin between the bores with that size. Block for $1k, mains for 600 and sleeve is about $100 dollars. Machine work would be just aligning the mains and boring it out. Total cost under $2300 bucks. Roller cam bearings installation is bout 1k what I'm paying 4 the block. Reuse all my parts...

14.5 to 15.0 compression just would need pistons for major stuff..... Rowdy mad as hell. MF I thought I was next on the to do list...Chill dude. Gotta Finish the 408 1st.
