Not use the br3.
Use the trick flow 245 cathedral and the 255 rect. They make both and would be a better setup to test.

Br3 is normally 280cc. Thats such a substantial difference its not even a good comparison, port design not included.

Im not saying the tfs245 would outperform the br3 and thats why the test is wrong and it hurt my feelings. Id fully expect the Brodix head to own in this comparison, and it did. But you know as well as I that the cr is way too low for any normal 427 build...and equally equipped the br3 is nearly $1k more. Thats why magazine builds are like the good from afar chick at the bar. They are either such an odd cobbled craigslist setup, way too expensive for a claimed "budget build", not any normal combo, or secretive/ringers. The guys on that site are clearly more than qualified to make a much better comparison, and im guessing had plenty of time and a good budget, so why do that?

And lazer maybe they did but as to which engine, thats as secret as the cam specs and timing tables

So as this has all to do with yourself. This quote from you was a lie "You only get insulted when you start in on me. I leave people alone otherwise". Told you!

Mine is a 2nd gen that hasn't been stripped out and sn't that light. It is a .030 over 6.0 block with LS3 heads. It has a lot more left in it but Im unable to leave above 1400 without blistering the tires. Will all be sorted out this winter.

Tech@ws6store - TFS 245s VS TFS 255s would be a great test and have a cam to match each set of heads.

I said it in my first post that the article was lame. Who swaps a cathedral head for a square port head and dont put a proper SPECCED cam in the motor for each head?

All heads dont like wide split duration camshafts. All heads dont like single pattern duration camshafts.

Your 60 foot time isn’t too shabby. Keep working on it. It should be moving out on the big end.

i would expect the br3 to win in this too and the only way to make it lose would be to choke them out somehow. Not sure what the controversy is

I bet launch is tricky AF in that thing. The 6.0 with ls2 cam and 243 heads in my S10 lights the tires easy. I ended up welding a piece of billet in the rear frame rails to put 300 pounds on the back just for weight distribution. Solid 5-1/8 x 5-1/8 hunk of steel billet.

Not using a ringer would be a start. Why even use the Brodix when both heads are available from tfs?

Price? known heads that have been on the market longer? price?
I also believe quite a few more are vendors for trick flow vs brodix as well and a litany of other smaller reasons.
And brodix doesnt have a cathedral head. only ls3 and ls7 so there's that too.

Im sure you know what a ringer is.
In that match up everyone knows the winner before the outcome. This isn't some Rocky comparison where there is an underdog that could just comeback to win.
Its not even a comparison because of the ringer.
Now a 245 tfs vs a 255 tfs would be the real comparison....with known cam specs...hell even use "trick flow" cams for em. All from the same place so same guys specing them that make the heads. THAT would be a true comparison. It would really show where port design alone would win. Not 40cc difference

Lol it's tricky as hell.I can footbrake to 3000 but anymore than 1400 it just spins. I also have to carry 15 gallons of fuel or it spins. I just ordered a fti powerglide with a custom 1st gear. My thoughts are that i will be able to get on the stall more while carrying less fuel. Hopefully reduce my et a 1/10 or two.

How is that even possible with the Mid Length Fast Runners???
Dont they give up to much low and Mid range torque??

Thanks Navy and to answer your questions, this stroker gave up very very little on the bottom end but now peaks at 6800 and pulls to 7200 when i took your advice and switched to the fast mid runner. The previous intake was a radius mod LS3 which is a fine piece for some applications but ran out of air at only 5800 on my 421. I was only running mid 10.80's with the LS3 intake and off the shelf stroker cam. I switched to the mid runner intake and a custom cam motion cam and went 10.42. My #1 problem now is getting all this power to the ground which i suspect the custom powerglide will solve, because my starting line ratio is ridiculous as it is.
