Hmmmmm....I have 4:10 gears and 1 3/4 LGM Longtubes (32” primaries w/merge collectors) and obviously the stock Ti exhaust — which I want to keep.

Do do I pay more cash for the bigger 1 7/8 headers (which I did not think picked up THAT much)? OR can I optimize a cam for my set-up as is (my original intent along with daily drivability).

Or or should I just be happy as is ?

1st ...off keep and give a engine what it wants ... Breathe B!+@#!...exhaust.

Camming is a preference. I choose hp to hell with drivability...reason for electric vacuum pumps for brakes and a electronic trans (settings for shifts..# 1 everyday quick shifts
# 2 peg a gear ....4 spd. auto 4l80e turns from from a OD to a T400 3spd.

Added not a track guy.... roll cage is for queens or short people..theme is street truck with a 3 quarters race engine good for DD.


It's your theme! Also ...boy starting of with a bare block to a complete engine with no spare parts.....BES and friends said 750 for epoxy and STR 8 heads. Beats buying lme porters for 200 more and still needed a CNC program. Then a Hemi and it's short runners filling the cylinders. Flea Bay 6.1 or 6.4 block that 1 396 hemi did that. Can't find it 1 o Know of a lsx doing more.... with that amount of cubic inches and hp with a lower compression @ 11.5 @ 7000 rpm. Sounds like some ER race engine Challenge and Greg Brown sb hemi heads. Just with factory 6.4 heads. BTW there Winner's of that challenge. Some say they can fill a cylinder....facts speak other wise. Gas in a hole ...ignite it..i ask myself who & what parts r doing better at doing it.

My 4th rodeo seems to cost more as the count increases.

Build what makes u happy and your dream ...

Headed to F'ing Chicago for 4 wks no Notice (in Ardmore, OK)... 1st minds says....u can chill @ home with no Worries ..bills dead. But no engine $. F! Not use to what normal people go thru.


Can't Complain ...f it could be dead or lockkked up. Oh well!

Thanks. Who makes a proper 2” header that fits under/with a c5 ?
The sound of the “swooooch” upon throttle withe the LGM’s is worth a bit but I don’t want to be jammed up
by 800rpm lost and a bunch of hp ?

ARH can probably make some, they custom built me a 1 7/8 set with a LS7 flange so the ports match up.
That said, that's a big tube (2")

Everyday off the shelf part with headers and a Vette ARH, Kooks...drunk typing LG sports covers Vettes.

U want a Great or good header...have it stepped from port exit to 2 iches which may take 3 stepps Reference. John B or any great engine build...exhaust dynamics....rule #4 of a 4cycle engine...we come back to it's happiness and wanting 2 breathe. Some may say it's alive...when 1st tested...Mines has a personality when started...what u wake me up 4 & F everyone. me like!

Best fitting ones I know of are arh. But yeah it's tight.

Step it..1 and 7/8 to 2 inches with a 3.5 collector (general reference # and I have) Generally not much in difference in cost. In John's build yes.... reason for the choice in my thoughts and ideas... give it to me.. reason for other ideas... 1 project @ a time. Dyno this ls3 top end, finish my ls7 heads
STR8 head or Hemi .....


The Sniper intake is the hottest thing going for a lower profile for the cost. No porting needed ....

I have a Hemi Challenger as well. Yes I am researching stepping the headers but that is getting really trick/custom. In all likelihood I will go full LGM 1 7/8 into 3” or ARH 2” if Incan get away cheap.

You wanna know something funny I just thought about.... If you took any of the newer Ls7 heads ported by whom Ever or choice in castings and kept everything the same .... I'd bet they wouldn't be a 20 hp difference. Y?
With typical or normal builds, with lower rpm under 7800 to 8k and - .700 lifts with intake choices being for or mostly DD life. Most times when a person sees these high numbers it's Compression ....pick your rpm range and milk compression for all it's worth....just bleed pressure as not to have detonation. Cam and compression > Match ✓ getting the most out of what you spent your $ on. Gas octane that's available is the main thing.
