Surprise it’s still not painted, I’m starting to feel like the car is at the chassis shop. I made some progress on the quarters and firewall, maybe the car will be done next year.
Imo body shops are in the same category as chassis shops. Either way man killer process on the car! I haven’t check in in while and a lots changed. Really turning out awesome!

They for sure are I’m also doing all of the bodywork myself and the painter Is just helping me. The firewall ended up being a bag of worms, there was a lot of **** metal and a ton of holes that were covered with bondo. It looks 90% better now and will look pretty good once painted.
While waiting for the paint booth to be empty I thought It would be a good time to paint the upper dash. Everything is ready for color, next week could be the week fingers crossed.
It may seem like a shock to most of us but there IS PAINT on the doors, wing, hatch, Berger panel!! Got to wait till Wednesday to get pictures of them. Apparently the insides of the doors were worse off than the painter originally thought so we have some work to do on them.
Also tried my hand at flocking, think it came out pretty well for a race car.

First thing I said to the painter is we are going to have to scratch something in the booth lol. It is coming out way better than I had expected, there’s still more to do. We stayed late last night and got the hood and inner doors done. He’s going to try and get the front clip and bumper today sprayed!
Car looks great and the color is awesome. Very similar to my old Super Gas FireChicken LOL....
Good looking bird!! I will say In the pictures the color is really blue but I’m person it teal. I think that’s what I like most is in different lighting is changes.
