Check with a mechanical gauge. Maybe a bad sender. It does OK after warm?

How many miles/condition on engine?

Fresh rebuild 05 6.0 vette engine,5w 30 oil, after the delay the oil pressure quickly goes to around 40 psi,it seems like bleed back as i have to leave it sit a while for it to do it again

So 40 psi cold, what’s your pressure at idle after warmup?

The oil filters on these LS engines are small, and clog easily. Any greases or pastes that “might” have been used when assembling the engine, along with debris from cylinder walls or what have you, end up in the filter. I’d try another filter. Don’t change the oil, just the filter. Take you what, 5 minutes? Worth a try.
