Default L8T Crank

Anybody heard of using the new L8T crank in our LS based engines an coming up with 400 cubes??
The reason I ask is there is a guy with them for 500 bucks each said there a much stronger crank.

Ya i'm doing one right now in my 6.2 truck. Pretty much a direct drop in. Just need a set up custom pistons. Wiseco have done quite a few of these already. Not sure on any of the other manufacturers?

SDPC has them listed @ $660 vs $880 @ mast.

There's no Way anyone should pay $900 bucks 4 a factory CCW crank...at that cost add a few Coins and you've got yourself a aftermarket CCW with 4 inches included...

Yeah I think I’d rather have a 4” crank all day.

My thoughts exactly. This L8T (LATE?) crank would be a no brainer for $100-$300, but at the $660 price, I’m going with a slightly higher priced, 4340 4” piece.
And to the OP, yes, they are are direct drop-in deal, for any LS based build.

So I guess the cranks reluctor or sealing surfaces are the same as our LS based engine? An with that being said why wouldn’t a Z06 LT4 crank work? I’m sure it’s a forged piece right?

My favorite...
math time

Cost of Custom Pistons Vs on the shelf?
Cost of the lt8 crank vs a Aftermarket Crank?

Difference of?

@ $500 to $600 as a base isn't really bad..
But 4.0 inch Pistons go for anywhere from $600 to $900

Customs Pistons start @ $1000.oo

Seems like a wash as they seem similar in cost with the crank @ 500 bucks...

You can get one from a dealer all day long for $550. Also if you read Mast description of the crank they are selling is a kit with all the main and rod bearings ready to go. So i really don't think this is a bad deal......

I agree 100%, it is a good deal, especially with the bearings, but 4340 forged 4” cranks can be bought for under $700 before tax from a vendor here and are in stock.

I'm running a blower on a 6.2 half ton 4x4 truck and i only want some more bottom end torque. A 4 inch crank is a little over kill on what im doing but if i was building another race motor i'd go the 4 inch route for sure.

Dealer cost is over 550. So you won't be buying one for 550. I'm sitting in front of my computer at work looking at it right now.

Dealer cost should be $557.29 then ad the customary %10 to that should get you to $613.02 + tax. I'd rather pay $100 or so more for a brand new one than somebody's takeout. Jmo. Of course the price I mentioned isn't going to be Joe Q public walking in the door.

I wish I paid 10%. At one point with our old manager, employees paid 30%. Now new owners and new manager, it's 15%. But still better than any vendors prices. And I have my own bay to work on my own cars on weekends. I work in parts and I'm a tech due to being shorthanded people.
