i mean...he riding around with dual throttle bodies and yall are worried about somebody putting things in a hood scoop?

There would be a slight ram air effect to be gained with a scoop but the clear mailbox version is a band aid at best. Hence why no scoops in professional motorsports look like that. The problem is nobody on the street wants to run a pro stock/pro mod/formula 1 style scoop to get the full benefit. The better bet to alleviate ALL of this would be to get a hood to enclose all that in so you dont have to worry about somebody dropping things into your throttle bodies and you dont have them open to the air creating that low pressure area over them at speed.

Great to see a hood on it! The aero has to help too.

It's the pin on version, so lighter than the stock hood. I kept the stock brackets, so it functions like OEM. Luckily its fiberglass, if it does end up cracking or something, it can be repaired.

There's a 1/2mi event mid April not too far from me. It's a little more expensive than I'd like. If I do decide to go, I may just do 1 day. I don't think I will need many runs to see what it would do. I guesstimate that it will go 175+ mph.

90% sure I will be going to Street Car Takeover in OK mid May. Going to do the roll racing event for sure and might try a dig or two. I guesstimate 155ish mph from a roll.

Trying to schedule a dyno session for next Tuesday.

Hit the dyno this morning. Same one as last time.

Ended up making 758/564

Today’s runs were sans vacuum pump and on pump E85 versus C85 on the previous session. Definitely some power left on the table there. Accidentally broke a fitting on the pump so had to remove it for now.

Peak was 5-600rpm higher. Lost 20whp around 6000rpm. Held on much better up top.

Overall, I’m happy with the results.

That’s sick…will help hooking up on the hit too. Carrying power like that is going to be huge. Can the dyno show average power over a range?

Holy ***** dude, that thing looks like it wants to keep going to 9k!

I think I may have already asked you about this, but have you considered going to a ZR1 transmission with MH3 ratios? Those ratios would work beautifully on a setup like yours.

That vac pump will probably take you even or better just before 7k and then the flat line to 8500rpm is badass. You gotta be shifting that thing close to 9k.. Looks like the average power went up quite a bit, even if the max number didnt really change. Nice.

You can see it in the bottom portion of the picture. Its showing 587 avg power. The previous Hi Ram comparison was showing 537hp or so. So, avg power is up, for sure.

It still spun pretty hard on the hit and I don't think it was even making near this power the other night. It actually spun worse that with the hi ram. Probably have to pull some timing in that area.

Yes, I'm thinking about it. Need to try a few more things with this one before I commit. The gear splits and the RPM drop on the MH3 would be more ideal.

Yeah, I'm going to raise the limiter so I can shift it at 9k now.
