NA 417 build give me ideas

With your weight you should be able to run 9s with your old set-up. I don't see it being a problem with your new engine with the power you should make. You might want to look at a pt4000 converter though. It won't hit the tires as hard on the launch and will have better shift extension to keep you in the rpms you want on the shifts. I've tried both ss and pt series and the PT worked better for my n/a setup.

I know at some point I'll probably need a converter change. As with the 376 engine I shifted at 6800 and it recovered at 6000. With the new 416 I haven't data logged anything yet as I just did it's first 500 mile oil change. I can only imagine it's gonna be looser. I'm thinking it's gonna be around 6800 shift to 6400 recovery.

I would try what you have in it for sure. I changed mine a few times to see what it liked .
