We have a customer that completed one of our 402 short blocks with a set of Lingenfelter CNC ported LS6 heads (65.5cc) & a GM grand cup cam, compression is about 10.8. I believe it made somerwere around 570hp & around 515 ft lbs of torque. He was using the LS6 intake and a ported tb.

any chance on getting a dyno sheet and specs on his car? WOuld sure push me to get one

The dyno was done on an engine dyno. Last time we talked he said he was going to fax me a copy of this dyno. I will follow up & find a way to post it.

Wanted to let everyone know that I found out that the LS2 block uses it's own lifter guide. The lifters are the same just the shape of the guide is a little different.

I spoke with Kris today, and he said they have even come up with a solution for the knock sensor problem, to allow using the LS1 knock sensors.

Looks like I'm gonna be ordering an LS2 402 before the week is out!

I'll probably upgrade the crank and rods though - I can see a turbo kit in the future as well.

You have to use LS2 lifter guides. The block casting is different
It's hard to see in this picture but look just above the end cylinders and you can see it. I will try to find a better picture.

I have been trying for days to find time to get on here and tell everyone about this. We had the chance to dyo a stock LS2 with a Magna Charger on it. The realy cool part is The calibration manager from Magnuson came down to tune it on our dyno. We used stock LS6 knock sensors & put them in the motor mount holes. You could drill & tap the original hole for the LS2 knock sensor & it would work just fine.

Kris, how much for just the block, front cover, timming set and valley cover for those of us who wish to build it ourselves? Also, what condition does the block come in, meaning what machine work is required? Align hone the mains, final honing the bores, and the balance? Thanks for all the help. This is great news about the knock sensors.

So you put one on each side? Top or bottom?

I've got a set of LS1 heads that were hand ported and milled .050 that flow VERY VERY well, and I'll use an LS6 intake. Not sure yet on the cam - looking into that now, might even have a custom cam made up for my setup.
